Patient Feedback:
We have gathered feedback from real customers, which presents significant concerns regarding the office staff and scheduling:
- Several reviewers expressed strong negative opinions, advising to "Avoid at all costs."
- One patient reported a serious issue involving their custom orthotic being mixed up with another patient's and the subsequent difficulty in getting it replaced.
- Another reviewer mentioned a staff member suggesting they seek faster service at a different dental office.
- Multiple complaints focus on the unprofessional behavior of a specific staff member, including allegedly lying to patients, ignoring concerns, and being more concerned with personal matters than patient care. Issues with incorrect file information and dismissive behavior were also reported.
- A recurring theme in the reviews is extreme difficulty with scheduling appointments, with wait times reported as long as eight months to a year for routine appointments.
- Patients also reported significant issues with phone communication, with calls frequently going unanswered and messages not being returned, often requiring in-person visits to handle administrative matters.
- One reviewer detailed difficulties in obtaining their child's dental records after deciding to switch to a different dentist, even after an in-person request weeks prior.
Important Note:
The overwhelming feedback from the available reviews raises serious concerns about the administrative and front office aspects of Yale-New Haven Hospital's Pediatric Dental Center. While the quality of the dental care provided by the dentists is mentioned as potentially "decent," the significant issues with the office staff and scheduling appear to be major obstacles for patients. Individuals considering this center for their child's dental care should be aware of these reported issues.

Yale-New Haven Hospital's Pediatric Dental Center Reviews
Avoid at all costs. Like any. They mixed up my thousand dollar orthotic with someone else’s, then refused to replace the device (which had been designed for and inside someone else’s mouth) until patient relations got involved. One staff recommended I go to another dental office as it could be faster. I wish I had taken her advice.I’ve seen one particular staff member (late 40s, dark curly hair, Hispanic), blatantly lie to patients, ignore patients, and disregard concerns. I listened as she lied and told a patient over the phone that the office was packed and there wasn’t a seat left in the waiting room - from the waiting room where I was the only one present. She was more concerned about her spilled coffee than she was with getting patients checked in. And learn from my mistake: if she incorrectly says something about your file/case, be cautious bc if you try to correct her she’ll just cut you off and say, ‘I wasn’t talking to you.’If you want decent dental care, yale providers will suffice. But the office staff at long wharfs adult dental office are so bad that it will eventually interfere with you getting dental care.
Jul 07, 2024 · Kat MedesThe dentist aren't terrible it's the front desk and scheduling. My daughter has been going for years and it takes a year to have an appointment. I called to make one and they said the only opening they have is 8 months out! This is not the first or second time. It's super frustrating. Don't ever have to call. I've called so many times over the years no one ever answers no one ever returns calls. I've had to go down to the office to handle all the business that should just be a phone call. Finally decided to switch dentist and I can't get them to send my daughter's information. Had to go down in person weeks ago and still nothing. For them to have Yale infront of their name they have to do better.
Nov 14, 2023 · Kay sWould give 0 stars if I could! Made an appointment with them 10 months ago with no other options for sedative pediatric dental work in the state. The absolute worst almost non communication with this office. Office staff has no idea what they are doing. You only seem to get automated calls and multiple confirmation calls after confirming then they say you didn’t confirm your appointment?!?!? They tell you one thing and each person tells you something different, HORRIBLE communication!!! Got the pre-op physical completed and fax by our pediatrician and they say they never received it and physically brought it to them as well prior to the appointment. Changed our son’s appointment two days before to a later time we tried to call multiple times with different questions and got answering machines and no return phone calls at all. Drive over an hour with a very starving NPO 7 year old to his appointment and they almost laugh at my husband as they had cancelled his appointment and never said anything to us. They said because they didn’t get the pre op physical and we didn’t confirm the appointment. All that had been done many days before and we hadn’t had any communication with them for the previous few days prior to the procedure even with our phone calls and messages they never returned!!! They won’t reschedule anytime soon and were so rude and inappropriate to my husband in front of our 7 year old son! How can you call yourselves professionals never mind pediatric health professionals! This is coming from two pediatric health professionals a nurse and a respiratory therapist that work in pediatrics and have never seen such horrible care and patient service! UNACCEPTABLE!!!!
Nov 17, 2023 · Jennifer GerichIf I could give this place zero stars I would!!! Worst dentist office ever! And Dr. Marshall is the worst human. NO BEDSIDE MANNER, NO COMPASSION, NOT A PLEASANT PERSON AT ALL!! He’s rude, unkind, dismissive, disrespectful, and treats people poorly! Stay as far away from this dentist office as possible! No communication at all. We waited over 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes+) before we were seen and taken from the waiting room to the treatment room, and no one talked to us at all the entire time we waited. This place is horrible. Do yourself a favor and go to any other dentist than this place!
Oct 12, 2023 · LB SteinI called to make an appointment for the past two week nobody picked up the phone. I leave a voice mail and no call back at all. Definitely I will be looking for a different pediatric dentist.
