Both my son and myself go to Dr. Russell Tasaka's office for our dental health. My last dental appointment for routine cleaning and check up is this month, Oct 2024. Dental hygienist Christine and 2 other clinical staff who worked on me are awesome! Christine provided me with helpful tips and information regarding dental health. She took the time to build rapport with me and made sure I was comfortable. One thing the office can improve on is related to administrative stuff. I received a bill for services for son and myself from Aug 2024 to Oct 2024. The bill was expensive considering we both have dental insurance from our employment. So I called the dental office on 10/18/2024. A female front desk staff, who answered tha call said my son does not have insurance hence the high bill. So informed her that my son has had dental insurance for a while now. Front staff said she will send a corrected bill. Unless there's dental problems, patients go to dentist only every 6 months. Any changes in insurance in between appointments would not be caught unless the front desk person gathers up-to-date information when patients come in. The front desk person said, "You're supposed to let us know." But my thought is, isn't it her job to ask patients when they come in to ask if there's any change in their dental insurance? Billing could have been done right the first time and hassles of redoing the bill could have been avoided had the front staff made sure she has the current insurance information when a patient comes in. Another issue I had with front desk person was after the pandemic. I hadn't gone to dentist for 2 years because of the pandemic. So I called to make an appointment. The female staff, who answered the call said she will call me back to make an appointment when they're ready. She did not. I had to make the call. I am highly satisfied as far as clinical staff. Just a comment/suggestion about administrative process: It would be responsible for front staff to ask patients every time they come in about any changes in their dental insurance and gather insurance information if there's any change.

I went in for my first visit, and will happily go back. Everyone I encountered was friendly and professional, more so than my previous dentist who I’d been with since I was a kid. They were gentle, thorough, and kind. Two thumbs up, 5 stars, 10/10

I had a great experience at Kaimuki Center for Dentistry. The clinic has a warm and friendly atmosphere. What stood out the most was how attentive the staff was to my needs and concerns. The highlight of my visit was the cleaning itself. The hygienist, was exceptionally careful and gentle. She did an amazing job. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a dental clinic that prioritizes patient care and comfort. I'll definitely be returning for my future dental needs. Courteous and pleasant greeting and check in. Was called in promptly for appointment. Procedure and instructions were explained and service went without incident. Pleasantly surprised by the head dentist who remembered my husband and I shared he knew some of our family members. Even presented me with a T-shirt with my husband's name!! Kaimuki Dentistry and The Wright Dentist, LLC are dentistry with Aloha.

When I first called and emailed this clinic, there was no call back or email back. I had to call multiple times to schedule an appointment. Also the last visit, I was supposed to have scheduled a filling and the person responsible for scheduling the filling by Dr. Wright didn't schedule it so I had only a cleaning. I'm in the process of looking for alternatives since the scheduling person in this clinic isn't conistent. When I brought this up to Dr. Wright, he didn't seem to acknowledge there was an issue.
