I have had multiple root canals and never this type of post procedure pain. Was brushed off saying it is "normal". Eye watering, unbearable pain is not "normal". Was told to take Advil. Requests for a follow up were not answered. During the procedure, was told "not to move" when one spot was extremely painful. I have had tons of dental work and have a high tolerance for pain. Won't go there again or recommend my friends. Especially those with dental anxiety.

I had a root canal that was challenging and there was a question whether I would be able to keep the tooth due to the decay under the old crown. The root canal was successful and Dr. Stamos was able to save the tooth. The staff and Dr. Stamos were friendly and professional. The procedure was painless. Overall, it was a good experience!

I have been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, working in Med/Surg and various other healthcare organizations. I always treat people the way I would want my loved ones cared for and treated. I have never had a bad experience being treated by dentists. I was recently referred to an endodontist in Lee’s Summit to get my first root canal. I fully anticipated a good experience and never even thought about looking at google reviews prior to going . Long story short, my experience was traumatizing. She had the absolute worst “Bedside manner” I have ever observed or experienced. After stopping her 3 times due to intense, sharp, pain I told her, “yes” I need more Novocaine “because it feels like torture” she walked around to the front of the chair and said, “there’s nothing I can do for you. You need to go”. No reassurance, sympathy, explanation, or encouraging words offered. She Only said, “I bet you’re going to write a bad review about me on google.” And her office staff telling me to pick up an antibiotic at my pharmacy that she would send. At this point I started crying like a baby, apologetic, confused, in shock, thinking I had a huge gapping hole in my tooth. Her business manager told me to “keep it down, we have other patients in here!” I didn’t have anymore pain, but I was confused about what to do next because nothing was explained to me. Thankfully my regular Dentist office made me an appointment to finish the root canal with Dr Stamos. He, and all of his office staff were so kind and personable. He had no problems at all getting my mouth numb and the whole procedure went smoothly. Absolutely no pain. I was also impressed with how up to date and clean his clinic is. I will definitely be telling everyone I know who needs an Endodontist Referral, to go see Dr Stamos. He’s Awesome at what he does!

Dr. Stamos made a root canal as delightful as one could be. Having seen his talents on a professional level, I knew he was the right pick for me when I found myself in need of specialty treatment. Thanks again for treating me like family.

Good work but I was told my root canal would be around $1,500 and that my insurance would most likely pay around half of it. After the work was done I was notified I would have to pay the full $1,500 out of pocket. This seems like a bit of a set up because I'm assuming they have some way to see if they accept your insurance and if dont have a way to know if your insurance will be accepted by them they should not tell you they believe your insurance will pay half the bill if they have no way of knowing. I ended up paying around $700 more then I expected because I trusted the misinformation given to me at the front desk.
