My son Isaiah is 21 and autistic he was nervous going to Solstice dental because of a bad experience he had more than 8 years ago at a dental office in Florida. I assured everything will be fine but it didn’t stop his anxiety and fears. From the moment we got there the receptionist was very nice. She even tried with a therapy dog that they have at the office (oh what a sweet sweet dog). The dog didn’t approach my son Isaiah senses his anxiety. The hygienist came out and just started trying to have a conversation with my son by asking questions. At first my son was hesitant put started opening up. Dr. Manning also came out and explained what they were going to do. My son want back with them and his brother who is younger than him for moral support. I’m happy to say Isaiah had a wonderful experience. And we are very happy with the staff from beginning to end. He is looking forward to return in October to start his deep cleaning of his teeth!!!
I was long overdue for my dental cleaning and decided to schedule here because they accepted patients without dental insurance (they have a plan available for those without insurance), they have an all-female staff, and I liked their mission and eco-friendly practice. Their office is beautiful and easy to find. Pam, the receptionist, was very friendly, helpful, and informative in getting me set up for my first visit. I scheduled a new patient appointment 2 months out but she put me on a cancellation waitlist, so I was actually able to get in the next day instead. I was pleasantly surprised by how much they prepare to assist anxious/nervous patients - including a service dog "on staff" trained to help patients with anxiety. My hygienist, Jennifer, was incredibly friendly and thorough, calming my nerves throughout the appointment and communicating with me every step of the way. I was a new patient and treated with so much respect that I look forward to many more cleanings at this practice. Thank you, Solstice!
There are much better options in Louisville where the dentist and stuff are understanding, and you feel heard. Options where the dentist and staff are patient with you. Where they listen to your concerns. And you don't feel bullied by dentist and staff, when you had concerns and questions. And never get addressed. They just made me feel uncomfortable. Please don't make the mistake that I made by going here. Unfortunately I had to get work redone that was performed here. This is my opinion about my experience here. If this is the type of dentist office that works for someone, I'm happy for them. Unfortunately this was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made in my life coming here.
It actually hurts me to make this review but I know how reviews work and honest experiences from across the spectrum might help another person. I searched for an email address to personally address my experience with Dr. Manning but could not find one, so here it is on a Google review instead. My challenges with this particular tooth began November/December of 2023 after a lung infection that was accompanied by a secondary oral infection that kept me in the ICU for 2 weeks. Immediately after discharge, I made my initial appointment at Solstice. Yes, they were kind, and welcoming. I loved the atmosphere and Flossy is the cutest mascot and door greeter. I’m not dental expert by any means but they placed a gold crown onto my problem tooth. It remained extremely cold sensitive. She recommended I see an Endodontic Specialist for my issues. I was experiencing diffused pain, sensitivity and then a week after the nerve pain began. However that’s not where my concern begins. 7/19 I began experiencing extreme nerve pain. The type where you’d rather push out a baby unmedicated than experience this. When I finally found a dentist to help me they took x rays and gave me a root canal. The new dentist said it looks there has been 6 months of infection in there! I had lost bone and root in that tooth. Which also caused it to loosen and move 2 mm. How was none of this found by solstice who I had seen 3 times though out this year. The money to fix the tooth isn’t the big problem for me it’s the infection and pain that I dealt with. 6 months of infection that went under the radar. People can get really sick from that. Glory to God that I had it taken care of and I’m on the path to recovery. The new dentist said hopefully I’ll keep this tooth for 2 years. Which I appreciate the honesty. I hope that the issue is resolved but I’m still recovering. All of that to say, if you need a dentist that can take care of really extreme cases and pain, this likely won’t be a good fit for you. Which is something I never knew to look for. But 6 months of infection should never go under the radar.
5 stars! My adult son with special needs had the best experience possible. His hygienist took great care of him and because of her we both felt comfortable and taken care of ❤️
