Parkside Family Dental

Always a great experience at Parkside Family Dental. Dr. Farr is incredibly knowledgeable and overall a great dentist! I came in for a filling today and Meena assisted. She did a fantastic job! She was very detailed, explained the entire process, and answered all of my questions. The whole experience was painless! Would highly recommend both Dr. Farr and Meena.

EVERYTHING was FANTASTIC! I’ve had less visits to the dentist than most, so my teeth aren’t in great shape. Steph and Julie , (the dental assistants), the receptionist, and the dentist were so compassionate and kind. They ALL Took the time to chat, explain things, and Steph even booked me an appointment with a specialist! Seriously, this place is the least scary dentist office. They even let me, a grown woman, hold their stuffed shark to calm my nerves. I can’t recommend them enough.

I initially had pretty good experiences with this dentist, a few fillings when I first saw them and regular cleanings over a couple years. TLDR for the long review: be cautious of over-treatment and be ready for them to send you spam forever. I went in to get a chipped tooth checked out and the dentist determined that I needed a crown. He said that a filling was likely to fall out due to the location of the chip. He did not explain the process, risks, crown life expectancy, etc. Dental hygienist just said not to worry and she had a crown done with no problem. Next person I see is someone explaining costs, trying to get me to sign off for treatment same day. The sales pressure and urgency to do the work set off an alarm (I wasn't having pain or anything that made it seem like an emergency) and I am sooo glad that I declined treatment and said I needed to think about it first. I went to consult with two other dentists, both said that although there are always different treatment options, a crown would not be their first choice. One looked at it and immediately said "I would not want a crown if that was my tooth". He also explained that crowns have to be replaced regularly, many end up having to have root canals and those risks go up over time, so he would prefer to avoid crowns when younger (I'm in my 30s). Ended up getting a filling. It has held up well, tooth has been feeling great, and I really like my new dentist. Unfortunately Parkside dental refuses to let go. After replying "STOP" to every text message and unsubscribing from every email, and calling the office multiple times letting them know I do not need their services, it's now a year later and they wont stop bugging me. So that is why I am finally writing this review. And in retrospect, I am unsure if I needed those three fillings they prescribed when I first started seeing them (my previous dentist who passed away never said anything). I probably should have gotten a second opinion there too. And although it was never an issue for me, the $75 late cancelation fee never seemed customer friendly.

They have been great. Today Meena worked with me to put in the easiest filling I've ever received. She was quick and caring the whole visit while working diligently. The whole team was awesome, but Meena really went above and beyond.

Everyone was very kind at the front desk, however that is where my experience ended as waiting for an hour was not in cards for me. The waiting seems to be a common problem, as another patient alluded. I'm almost always willing to give people a few minutes but an hour and still not even being taken back to a chair is absurd.

I visited Parkside Family Dental for a second opinion visit. I was amazed at the friendliness and professionalism of the practice. Steph kept me comfortable throughout the entirety of the appointment. Trace is very careful during the periodontal probing. Dr. Farr is thorough and gentle. I’m looking forward to my next visit.
