Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Introduce
Welcome to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery directory listing on our Theme Park Directory platform! While our platform primarily focuses on theme parks, we also understand the importance of providing information about specialized local healthcare services. This page offers an objective overview of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in New Haven, CT, based on publicly available information and patient reviews.
About Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery:
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is located at 1 Long Wharf Dr, New Haven, CT 06511, USA. They can be contacted by phone at (203) 789-3156 or mobile phone at +1 203-789-3156. As a practice specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery, they likely handle procedures such as wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants, and other surgical treatments of the mouth, jaws, and face.
Environment, Services, and Features:
One patient described the scheduling process as "a breeze" and the receptionist as "very kind and informative." The office appears to have a self-check-in system. The patient also noted being seen "almost immediately" upon arrival. The practice has multiple oral surgeons, including one mentioned by name, Dr. Arthur Wilk. They seem to handle urgent referrals, as one patient was referred by the New Haven ER for a painful wisdom tooth issue. While initially stating they were fully booked for same-day extractions, they were able to accommodate the patient's urgent need.
Patient Feedback:
We have gathered feedback from real customers, which presents contrasting experiences:
- One patient had a highly positive experience, describing it as "close to perfection." They praised the kindness and helpfulness of everyone they encountered, from the receptionist to the oral surgeons. They appreciated the thorough explanation of their condition and were grateful for being accommodated for a same-day extraction despite the initial booking constraints.
- Conversely, another reviewer reported extreme difficulty in contacting the office. They claimed to have been calling daily for three weeks, with the phone ringing and going to a voicemail promising a 24-hour callback, which they never received despite leaving multiple messages. This suggests significant issues with phone communication and responsiveness.
Important Note:
The patient reviews for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery present a mixed picture. While one patient had an excellent experience with scheduling, staff, and receiving urgent care, another reported a complete lack of response to phone calls over an extended period. Individuals considering this practice should be aware of these differing experiences, particularly regarding communication.
While Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is listed on our Theme Park Directory as a local healthcare option, it is crucial to remember that oral surgery is a specialized medical service distinct from theme park offerings. We aim to provide a comprehensive directory of local resources, including healthcare, but encourage users to consider all available information and potentially explore multiple options for their oral surgery needs.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Reviews
Had a cavity in one of my wisdom tooth -incredibly painful.. I wasn’t able to sleep. I had originally went to the New Haven ER and they gave me meds and an urgent referral here. They weren’t open on the weekend , so I had to hold off until the following Monday. Scheduling was a breeze and the receptionist was very kind and informative. Day of :Got to my appointment timely, no issues for check-in ( self-check in), I was seen almost immediately. The first oral surgeon ( I’m sorry I forgot his name ) was very sweet, thorough and honest about my condition and expectations. At first they said they were too booked to accommodate an extraction for me same day( I was pushing for it ) … but then Dr. Arthur Wilk ( handsome gentleman ) came in and tried to reiterate the same sad news. However, I’d like to think I got to him with my pleas because soon after they consulted privately with the owners and told me that they would be able to get me fixed up and pain free!Crazy right?!🤗Honestly , my experience was close to perfection .. and everyone was very nice. I may not sleep tonight but I know getting that tooth out was the best outcome! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to your patients, it means the world !🥹🙏🏾😇
Jul 11, 2024 · Amoi RussellBeen calling daily for 3 weeks, rings and rings until it goes to voicemail that states our message will be returned within “24 hours.” I have left multiple voicemails and not one return call back. Don’t think anyone works here anymore.
Jul 18, 2024 · Caiti AppellOver a month ago I was referred to see Oral Maxillofacial Surgery due to debilitating headaches from jaw clenching. I called three times over the course of a month and no one answered or called me back even though I left detailed information like they requested. During that time, they sent me a letter hand signed by the scheduler who doesn’t answer the phone or call back, threatening to remove me from the referral list if I didn’t call them. I had to call my PCP and have them patch me through and then I’m told that they can’t see me until April. I started to cry because I’m having constant migraines and it’s effecting my ability to live life normally. Only when I cried and was really upset did she offer me an appointment IN TWO WEEKS. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Yale New Haven Health clearly does not respect their patients or care for their well being. Based on all the bad reviews, they have no desire to change. If I didn’t have to go to then because of my insurance, I wouldn’t. But I have no choice.
Oct 27, 2023 · Alana FWas referred to the office by my Rheumatologist. Tried to call them 4 days in advance of appointment because MYCHART posted that I was pre-billed for the appointment to the tune of $171.00. Called the number that was on the BILL on Mychart, and was told the Voice Mail was full. Which it was, for the next THREE DAYS. Finally got to leave a message that, of course, was never returned. DID get on to a human on the NEXT day, who could not help me. She couldn't even find my appointment. Then she did, and could tell me nothing about it. With mobility problems, I went to 1 Long Wharf, and waited an hour. Was told the doctor was on the phone and she would be in shortly. She was on the phone regarding my referral, which was in her office for more than a week. She came into the exam room and said she would not schedule the procedure because I had not done the labs; but I had. She never looked at me, she looked at the screen the whole time. I said, "Why didn't your staff just call me and tell me not to come?" No answer. In addition, for some reason, when I tried to pinpoint what the exam would cost and what would be done, I was given completely wrong information, and throughout the Yale system, people could not find the appointment scheduled. It was only after I called them that they started to ask me to confirm. In short, the office is inefficient, and the doctor I met with couldn't care less about the next patient. There is a Medical Assistant; a lovely black woman with a head scarf, the day I was there, was INCREDIBLY lovely and kind, and actually cared about the people she saw. She made the experience special in a good way, while the rest...
Jan 25, 2024 · swarze ozI was terrified to take my daughter here after reading all the horrible reviews. She had surgery for a broken arm and during, her jaw was dislocated from anesthesia. Yale er was awful and we were referred to this oral surgery group and I couldn’t be more pleased. I would have given 5 stars but we waited a very long time in the waiting room. Besides that, the staff were helpful and friendly and the surgeon was fantastic! He was kind and concerned and spent a great length of time with us explaining everything. I worked in the dental field for years and I would absolutely recommend this group!
