Northborough Dental Associates

My family has been going to Northborough Dental for over 20 years. Agree with a previous review that it is “a bit unnerving” to have no idea who the dentists or hygienists are, a lot has changed. A letter or email to long time patients to introduce the new staff could be helpful. And the staff should introduce themselves at the time of service. I understand that things change. Please acknowledge that you are new and I am old, a long time patient who really tries to take care of her teeth. There is one familiar face at the front desk which is good to see! That being said, my cleaning with a new hygienist, Sarah, was excellent a few days ago. The dentist explained clearly what is being “watched”. At this time I am still confident in my dental care here.

I recently visited Northborough Dental Associates for an initial exam, but unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The dentist insisted that I needed a deep cleaning, despite having had one less than a year and a half ago. When I requested to opt for a regular cleaning instead, the dentist refused, saying I needed to get records from my previous dentist before they could proceed. I felt uncomfortable and sensed that they were more focused on using my new insurance for costly procedures than on addressing my actual dental needs. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and would not recommend this practice based on my experience.

My previous dentist of about 20 years was very good but very expensive, a little far to drive, and sometimes pushed procedures which were probably not yet necessary. When he retired, and the new guy he brought in told me I needed a crown replaced at a 11% increase from the similar crown I got the year before, I did some research and started seeing Northborough Dental Associates about two years ago. Very happy I did .... the staff and Dr. Donahue are great. That "bad" crown is still just fine. They just cleaned up and re-cemented an old gold crown that had come off while I was away in Maine for two weeks (I put it back on temporarily with dental cement from CVS) .... and they did not try to sell me a new crown or unnecessary repair work on the post.

This place has gone down hill. Dr Howells would always check you out after your check up. Not no more sat in the chair for 20 minutes only to find out no one was coming to final check so now I need to come back a couple day’s later so the dentist can look at my teeth knowing I needed attention on a tooth I came back. At that point I made 2 more appointments 1 for measurement and 1 for crown installation. Got there yesterday at 5 PM sitting there at 5,25 Pm in the waiting room going really walk out of never going back there again if they cannot handle the work load then don’t schedule it

Ive been going to ND for years and love the staff. This was my first time meeting Dr. Pabaney and I liked him a lot. He Was very informative and clear in what I needed and didnt need. highly recommend
