New Smile Dental Studio - Dr. Karen Martinez

After not going to the dentist for a while this staff was super comforting and reassuring. My cleaning and initial consultation were done by Cassandra she did amazing. I didn’t get the front desk girls name but also I love how she took time explaining my treatment plan costs and help me reschedule my appointment a couple times. Dr. Martinez was thorough and made a treatment plan that made sense and wasn’t trying to charge me for anything unnecessary. I highly recommend this office. Thank you everyone!

I’ve been going there since February 2024 for some extensive dental work and it’s always a pleasant experience even when going to the dentist isn’t always fun. Dr. Martinez and her entire staff make me feel completely at ease and comfortable. Would recommend!

I had the privilege of being treated by the best oral surgeon in the valley, Dr. Armond Keuroghlian. His professionalism and talent are truly unparalleled. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel at ease, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dr. K is not only incredibly skilled but also remarkably caring and kind. I came here for a standard cleaning and was told I had three cavities. The cleaning seemed standard. The dentist noted the cavities were so shallow they weren’t appearing on x-rays, but they would be billing me for “desensitiz” on top of the filling. This came out to around a few hundred dollars out of pocket, which surprised me as I have very good insurance. The staff could not explain the additional charges, why they were necessary, or justify why the cavities weren’t clear in x-rays. I felt very pressured to just go with the up-sold items, but something wasn’t adding up for me and they eventually agreed to fill without the desensitizing agent. Ultimately, they ran out of time at my appointment to do the fillings and I am SO glad. I ended up getting a second opinion and was told that these were areas of staining and after thorough examination, only two small pits had cavity characteristics. He predicted with regular dental hygiene that it would be 5-6 years before I MIGHT develop cavities in these areas due to the anatomy of my molars. I quickly got a small filling which was so minor I did not even require novacane, let alone desensitizing agent. The dentist who did this had decades of experience and was able to explain everything he did, why he was doing it, and all of my options. Based on the results of the second-opinion I received, and the fact the staff here could not explain why they were trying to charge for things even a lay-person could see were extraneous, I believe this office was ready to be over-zealous with drilling in order to bill more to myself and my insurance. Some people opt to have stains drilled out, but this is not what was proposed to me by Dr. Martinez; I was simply mis-diagnosed. You can never un-drill your teeth. Take your dental health as seriously as they take their paychecks and get a second opinion if anything feels off. (pic of my pearly whites for algorithm)

After my father had a bad experience getting full denture work at a different dentist office, we knew when it was my mother's turn to get denture work that we would have to do some research and find a better place. New Smile Dental Studio turned out to be that better place. It is easy to see that Dr. Karen Martinez, along with her staff, are skilled, knowledgeable and concerned for the well-being of their patients. Upon seeing what good care my mother received during her visits, I decided to switch my dentist and became a patient of theirs as well. So far I've had x-rays done, a routine cleaning, a procedure for a custom night guard (due to my jaw clenching tendencies), and some much needed fillings. All of these procedures went well and I am satisfied with the results. If you are looking for the 'perfect' dentist office, you will never find it. But if your looking for a dentist office that has, as a priority, your oral health in mind and will give you the best care possible then New Smile Dental Studio is for you.
