Mortenson Family Dental

10 years ago, this was a great dentistry. They had fantastic oral hygienists and the front desk staff was actually personable rather than begrudgingly ‘nice.’ But over the last several years, as they have gotten busier, the entire dentistry has become less kind and far less accommodating. Dr. Jeff is a fantastic dentist, but I cannot recommend the dentistry as a whole.

My experience has always been very pleasant! Allison, my hygienist, is very friendly and gentle. I have been going to the Springhurst office for years. Can never understand why people don’t like going to the dentist as my visits are always enjoyable. Dr. Scott Boatwright has done several crowns for me and is equally pleasant and gentle. He always explains the process and is mindful of his patients well being.

My family and I have been going to this clinic for years. But this clinic does not have any empathy, work ethics, or caring to the patients. They cancelled my appointment in February because the office was closed on the day of my appointment even though I scheduled it six months prior. So, after many tries to get an appointment, I was told; they have opening on 7/23/24 at 430 pm. So, I changed my work schedule in order to get my dental cleaning. So, I showed up before my appointment and filled my paperwork and was escorted to the room to get the treatment. So, the dental assistant took my blood pressure, and I was laying on the bed, and the dental hygienist, Betsy, was just about to started cleaning my teeth. Suddenly, the clerk came and told me that I do not have insurance. I assured her that I have insurance and asked her to call my insurance to verify in the mean time ,but she refused. She told me to leave the treatment room and call my insurance. So, I get up the bed went back to the lobby and started calling my insurance. So, while I was on hold with customer service not even 3 minutes, she told me that she's going to cancel my appointment and told me to reschedule my treatment. She said, " you are assuming you have insurance, but you do NOT" I work in HealthCare field, and I go beyond my way to help my patients and give them the best healthcare and service they deserve, no matter where they came from. I asked for a manager, and I was told that there was not a manger, and I asked to talk to the dentist, and she said, " the dentist's not gonna do anything". So, I left without getting treatment even though I have active dental insurance. I and my family members and friends will never ever go to Mortenson family dental because of the incompetent staffs working in this facility. I will never recommend to anyone. I had horrific experience. My right of treatment was denied because who I am, not because I do not have coverage plan. I will be contacting the Board of Dentistry with regard to this issue.

I've been to this dentist for about 4 years. They are magnificent concerning my dental care. Degraded amalgam fillings were removed and replaced by modern dental materials. I've also had many good checkups since then. One hour is blocked off, but cleanings now take just 30 minutes. These folks are champions in my dental care.

As always I had a great experience. I've always had a fear of a dentist. The staff makes me feel so comfortable that I don't fear going to the dentist anymore.
