Mehlville Modern Dentistry

Have been taking my teenager here for a few years now. At first it was great, but now it's just awful. The staff is friendly, but they consistently cancel our appointments with practically zero notice (almost always the day before the appointment). When we try to re-book the schedule is always so full that we end up having to push the appointment anywhere between several weeks, to several months. The receptionist told us it's because their office doesn't actually have a dentist on staff! (I guess they're rotating doctors in from other offices?). Because of our dental coverage, we are limited to which dental practice we can use, otherwise I absolutely would go elsewhere.

I have always had great experiences here! The staff here are well knowledgeable and kind, the doctors are polite and patient. They answer all of my questions and concerns. Most importantly they do an AMAZING job with the care of my teeth! They have perfect communication when it comes to appointment scheduling and work with my work schedule to still get me in as quick as possible and when it comes to billing they always give me options on how I can take care of it. One time they reprocessed my insurance with an additional one I forgot to mention and got a new quote for me in no time! My whole family goes there and I have built a very positive relationship with pretty much everyone in this office. Not once have I ever been disappointed coming in, 10/10 definitely recommend.

I hadn't been to a dentist in quite awhile but I finally got insurance and got an appointment pretty fast, which is impressive. They did x-rays and took care in making sure I was comfortable even though x-rays are a pain but they did really good. They examined my teeth and made a plan for me to get a deep cleaning since it has been a long time, found I have some cavities and need to have my crown fixed because it is chipped. They wrote out a detailed list of what I need to have done and I can choose what I want according to my budget which is really nice. They went over the items with me making sure I understood the procedures and what to expect. The staff is super nice, knowledgeable and helpful, the office is clean and has easy parking. I am really glad I finally found a good dentist that I can trust and rely on. Looking forward to having a great smile.

I wish I could say better things about this office. I have been a patient here for 9 years. While the office has always been clean and modern, the service lacks. There have been a few instances where I would be left sitting in the waiting room because they didn't know I was there (along with other patients). They almost always tend to run over with their morning staff meetings so you aren't taken back for quite a while after your scheduled appointment time, even though you arrive 15 minutes prior to, per their requests. Another issue I have is that I needed a crown. I was told it would be around $700 out of pocket. I paid the fee but when my EOB came in from my insurance company, I questioned the charges and what my insurance did pay. When I called the MMD office, I was told that I could have gotten a crown that my insurance company would have paid most, if not all, of the fees but it would have taken a few days for it to be made. I was never made aware of this and was only told my option was the $700 option. The response was, "well, I always tell the patients they have the option, the person who told you must have forgotten." I'm sorry...what? That's not good enough! Finally, I make my six-month check-up appointments before leaving my current appointment. I was supposed to have an appointment on Thursday morning at 8:00 a.m. I arrive at 7:45 and no cars are in the parking lot and the door is locked. I wait until 8:00 and no one shows up, door still locked. At 8:15 I call the number and get the answering service. They see I have an appointment but aren't sure why the office isn't open. I check the website and see they are only open on Fridays now from 8-2?? Why wasn't I notified prior to my appointment? Hopefully when I find a new dentist there will actually be someone who can transfer my records, but I won't hold my breath. **ETA: they must have an automatic response because they aren't even open today to give them call to discuss this review. I wonder if all of the Pacific Dental Services dental offices operate like this.

I wanted to say thanks to the staff at this office. It was a pleasant visit and all as thorough in explaining the process and the next step. A very knowledgeable staff and a great team and was a pleasure to meet them for my second appt. I look foreword to seeing them all again. I feel comfortable and things are explained well. I’m grateful that they are all so professional and I hope to make new friends. They are working with me on the funding side which makes things easier for our financing. It’s a beautiful facility and all are amazing. Thanks to the staff and surgeons and dental doctor that has given me a great experience
