Welcome to Garrick Denny DDS, Inc., a Dental Clinic located at 737 W 9th St in San Pedro, California. This practice, which includes Dr. Denny and Dr. Chen, is known for its thorough, caring, and professional approach to dental care, earning high praise from long-term and new patients alike.
One long-term patient, who was referred to Dr. Denny's office over a decade ago after a negative experience with a previous dentist, shared that their friend's high praise for the doctor and his staff was accurate. They appreciate that Dr. Denny listens and asks questions about their concerns, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their dental needs. The practice is described as doing a thorough job checking dental health. This patient, who gets their teeth cleaned 3-4 times a year due to past issues, finds the dental hygienist, Marissa, to be great. They feel that maintaining their dental health is a priority for the practice and express being very satisfied with the care they receive.
A new patient who came to the clinic with tooth pain after a long period without dental care also shared a highly positive experience. They found the staff to be friendly and professional, and the office environment was very clean and comforting. They specifically highlighted Dr. Chen as caring and patient, noting that he answered all of their many questions. Dr. Chen successfully identified and treated the patient's two cavities. Despite living an hour's drive away, this patient found the experience so great that it was entirely worth the trip, declaring Dr. Chen their new forever dentist and already recommending him to friends and family.

Nov 05, 2024 · Cecelia HawkinsDoctor Denny worked on several of my teeth. I have referrals and spent over 12 grand at this office and yet they are so stingy. For one of my crowns he asked if I was happy with the crown being a different color from the rest of my teeth we decided to ask for a new color from the lab and schedule another visit (at the next visit he placed the same old crown and didn't show me the mirror -- I could tell because I'm an artist and asked the assistant, (a name sounding like Elma) and she confirmed!. In the meanwhile the office kept pestering me to pay before the treatment was over despite the problem. Watch out for Angela! and make sure you get everything in writing. When I told her doctors typically charge after the treatment she asked if I paid for grocery before or after getting merchandise! She was trying to charge me again for my mom's exam as well and she also wouldn't send my X-rays to Endodontist and I had to negotiate with her in order to convince them to send all the x-rays (because doctor Denny claimed that a tooth sensitivity my feel on the opposite side!). So I asked them to email me all the x-rays (so I would send them myself) and Susie asked with a surprise "can we do that?" I shouldn't have been surprised since she was the one to cancel my appointment once saying my appointment was half an hour earlier just because. I thought she was right but when I checked that I had written the appointment on a paper she was wrong and I to called back and told her I will report this to the Doctor and she gave me a sooner appointment asked me not to report because with Angela being away it would make her look bad. She and Elma (the one who put the same old crown) were having a hard time running the office. Come to think of it everyone in that office cheated me in one way or another. By then Angela was working on getting to pay again again for my mom's exam and could not show me the details of the treatment except for my payments. Dr. Denny enjoys doing half-measures so he used a temporary adhesive to glue back a veneer that had chipped. When I asked them why they didn't use cement (stronger) they said because it was temporary! It fell off in less than two weeks but not before Angela send a bill charging close to $300 for a "temporary crown"! Dr. Denny has amiable appearance but I'd rather have an ill-tempered doctor who is skilled and knows what they're doing. I'm very sorry to have let him destroy my teeth and he doesn't want to admit there is something wrong with the crowns and now is sending me to referrals instead of taking responsibility and solving the problem. I have spent over 12 grands in his office to have teeth are sensitive to cold and pressure and the solution is to do root-canal -- for roots that are completely healthy. If they don't do a good job the solution would be implant! They don't try to look at the images before the crown and that's why they were hesitant to give me the x-rays when I asked them and Susie was right, they can't do that, because they all work as a team against the interest of the patient.
