Dr. Jeffrey E. Felzer, DMD

I am a patient of Dr Lopes. She performed a gum grafting procedure on me in Sept 2024. I previously had another Dr perform gum grafting on me 3 years ago and it was not a good experience at all so I was very nervous that I had to get another area grafted. My experience with Dr Lopes was the polar opposite of what I previously experienced. She was very kind, upbeat, positive and professional during my consultation, procedure and follow-up. And very importantly, the procedure itself was done very well and the recovery wasn't bad at all, especially compared to my prior gum grafting by another Dr. Not only is Dr Lopes a great Doctor, her staff at the Newark location is phenomenal. The are so very sweet, friendly and efficient. I can truly say that I felt as if they genuinely cared about me as a patient. I highly recommend Dr Lopes.

Was referred to Dr Felzer from another dentist for perio/gum work. Great explanation of what he wanted to do, cost estimates, downtime and the actual procedure itself. Scheduling was easy, front desk is polite and Dr Felzers assistant is kind. Dr Felzer has really positive and upbeat energy which was helpful for me because I have some fear of dental work. 10/10 recommend

The actual procedure went well. But the administrative end was a nightmare. I was scheduled for a tissue graft for 3 teeth. Shortly before my appointment, I was called and informed of the cost, which was higher than what they originally told me. I told them that, but said okay and we hung up. Shortly thereafter, they called me back and said I was right; they had made a mistake. I ended up having to reschedule the appointment for personal reasons. As the new appointment approached, I got a call to inform me that they couldn't do the graft for all 3 teeth cause insurance had denied them, so they'd only be doing the one, critical tooth. After contacting insurance, I learned that insurance had denied them because they'd submitted it wrong. After getting insurance to talk to them, they got back to me and said that they could do all 3. The day of the appointment, I showed up and paid the copay amount for 3 teeth, which was significantly higher than the cost for 1 tooth. I got the procedure done.. only to find out that the periodontist had only done a graft for the 1 tooth. So, clearly, the billing/administrative department hadn't communicated with the periodontist. So, now, I still need another graft done, and I've lost time and money, because it was more cost-efficient to do all 3 at once. In summary, Jennifer Lopez, the periodonist I saw, did good work, but the administrative side of things kept messing up. If you go with this office, double-check a million times that they're going to do what they said they'd do.

Dr. Lopes was great and awesome Dentist. I had LANAP procedure done and it was phenomenal. She explained process very well and made you feel very comfortable. Dr. Lopes assistant was awesome and very helpful, friendly, polite and explained out my oral care needs. Office staff very professional and responsive. Would highly recommend!

I am in the process of getting dental implants and Dr. Felzer and his staff have truly been wonderful to work with. They are always punctual with appointment times, I think I sat about 30 seconds at best in the waiting area. They are all very pleasant and just genuinely want to help you. The ladies did an amazing job of taking the time to make sure that my new teeth match perfectly with the coloring so that no one would ever know the difference. Dr. Felzer is wonderful with answering all of my questions and concerns. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Felzer to anyone who is in need of a periodontist, you won't be disappointed!
