Cottonwood Dental

I’ve deterred a few people from going to Cottonwood Dental. I’ve never encountered a more unprofessional business than this. I’ve contacted this dental office well over 10 times in the past two years trying to resolve my dental bill issue. I’ve called numerous times, emailed, and followed up during my last two appointments about the issue. I’ve even written a letter. With each attempt, I was told the person who handles this was out for the day and would contact me upon return. However, that never happened. The issue is I had a balance when I have insurance and should not owe anything out of pocket for dental visits for routine cleaning. I explained to them that I have two insurances, and they have to file with my primary insurance first. Then my dental insurance pays the remainder. By the time they finally got around to filing as I explained, more than two years had lapsed on a couple claims, so the insurance didn’t pay. A reputable business would work with their customer to resolve the issue by either not charging them because of their negligence or reducing the amount the customer must pay, but not this business. I'll also add that this dental business location was purchased from my former dentist after retiring. I never had an issue with owing anything for routine dental work with my former dentist. Being a dentist office, at the very least, they should know how filing claims and receiving payments work. I shouldn't have had to contact them numerous times.

This dental office is fantastic! The entire team has a great uplifting positive vibe! Kim specifically worked on my teeth and she went above and beyond for me. Truly grateful to have found such an awesome new home location.

Were it possible to leave 0 stars for Cottonwood Dental, I would certainly choose that option. My 70 year old father chose the East 21st Street location to craft a full set of dentures for him March 2024. My Dad is a proud former Marine who stands at 6'4", with a quick smile & an easygoing demeanor. He never meets a stranger & embodies the Semper Fi mentality in all that he does. After multiple fittings, the dentures were finally received September 2024. The appointments for fittings were always a hit or miss, as far as customer service. Most of the staff were friendly & congenial to my Dad, but others were dismissive & impatient. The latter employees seem to take their dismissive & apathetic cues from Dr. Willardson. My Dad would frequently ask for reasons why the finished product was taking so long. He was asked to return for re-fittings, due to inaccurate measurements or missed components of the measuring process. My Dad was quite patient & ignored frequent pleadings from my Mother to leave Cottonwood Dental. The proverbial last straw came on the day my Dad picked up his new dentures...or the date delivery was scheduled. He routinely arrives for appointments 15-20 minutes early & this day was no different. For 45 minutes, after he checked in, my Dad watched several patients who arrived after him called to be seen. During this time, the front desk staff never acknowledged him or made any apologies. At the 45 minute mark, he left the office. The staff didn't communicate with my Dad, so he didn't see the need to communicate his departure. The Office Manager called my Dad later that day, seemingly unaware that he'd been in the office. Her initial conversation was a reminder of the appointment. When my Dad relayed his experience, there was still no apology. Instead, she chose to be defensive & combative. Her tone & word choice had no regard for my Dad's experience, nor respect for him as a person. At that point, my Dad became cross & switched to addressing this Cottonwood Dental representative in kind. He never uttered a curse word or raised his voice, but the Office Manager became frustrated at being challenged and abruptly disconnected the call. Several days later, my Dad returned to the office & picked up his dentures without incident. He wasn't pleased with the fit, but was told to give the new dentures at least a week to adjust. During this ordeal, it became necessary to admit my Mother to a Long Term Care facility for hospice care after a long illness. She passed away 1 week later. To compound everything my Dad was processing, he received a letter from Cottonwood Dental dismissing him from the practice. We were stunned. The curt letter informed him the reason was due to the phone call with the Office Manager. They were "gracious" enough to offer my Dad 30 days to finalize any needed fittings. How & why would he trust these people any further with his patient care when the level of care has been subpar? My Dad never returned to Cottonwood Dental & is happily receiving care elsewhere, from a practice that truly understands the concept of customer service & patient care.

I had a such a great experience with Cottonwood Dental. I needed a tooth extraction immediately. They were able to get me in for an exam within 24 hours. Eric, Triana, and Dr Shaw were all amazing. They were respectful and answered all of my questions about the procedure. They explained all steps thoroughly. The room was clean. Furniture, floors, and instruments were new and clean. I would absolutely recommend this staff and location to others. 💛

I visited for the first time today and really love how caring the staff is. Would highly recommend coming here for services!
