Burien Family Dental Care Reviews
Update in response to owners's reply:It is extremely dishonest of you to frame my interaction and asking questions over the phone as anything remotely close to yelling. There was no yelling that ever occured from me or your employee during my visit at your office, or over the phone when I called. Being dishonest about this makes any rational communication with your facility impossible. Instead, I'll leave this review here as a warning to any potential patients. As far as what the insurance company has negotiated with pricing, this is also misleading. You are framing it as if the insurance company set the price higher than you would have, where it's the opposite, they have negotiated the price down to where it is from what you'd like to charge, and you've set the price to the maximum of what the insurance company will allow in order to do business with you. Your facility, along with one other I've spoken to, have the highest costs for the procedures regarding my implant. Every other facility charges considerably less and are well reviewed.Again, it is very disappointing that you have decided to make up what occurred during my visit and over the phone. There were no raised voices, nothing that could be considered even rude. I asked questions and then the person I was speaking with almost immediately offered that I stop being a patient there in response to asking about prices before insurance was applied, at which point I said that offering that in response was disappointing and that I would like my dental records provided to me. Neither myself nor your employee yelled, so you've made that part up.Also, discussing my procedures and my insurance provider publicly I don't think is legal. I have inquired with the AG about that.Original review:I have spent the better part of a year having them work towards a procedure. First, the dentist performed an extremely painful procedure and insisted I take the sedative upon my arrival (not prior), so the effects weren't even underway during my procedure. The procedure was very rough, and the resulting amount of bone and tooth fragments that exited the wound site was substantial. This ate up my insurance immediately, and I had to wait the better part of a year for the insurance to renew, and then they showed me that they would eat up my insurance with the first procedure of the year. I asked for a full break down on the costs associated with the procedure, and asked them to stop telling me the costs after the insurance being applied, and I was absolutely shocked. With the price negotiated down from the insurance, which they were charging the maximum that the insurance company would pay towards, were $5,500. Without insurance, it would have been even more than that. Upon researching national averages, their costs were higher than the high end. I'm talking each procedure, each procedure was higher than the high end of the national average.I made some calls to other local dentists, and sure enough, all but one were charging substantially less from start to finish. Anywhere from $3500-$4200, that's as much as $2,000 less! And these are dentists who have great reviews too, and don't call their patients constantly asking if THEY can change your appointment time because they can't make it. Yes, this place asked to move my appointment several times because the time they scheduled with me no longer worked for my dentist. Moreover, when I asked if they could provide me all the costs in a transparent manner, they asked if I wanted to stop being their patient. Their solution to being asked for transparency was to not receive service there. This place gouges, please make some calls and do your research. And demand your dental records when you leave.PS: I took screenshots of your original response where you named my insurance company and other medical information, which is what will he submitted to the department of health.

I really appreciate how friendly and gentle you were throughout the entire appointment. You took the time to thoroughly explain my teeth’s progress and concerns, which made me feel more confident and comfortable.
