The staff is so friendly and helpful. They took great care of our neurodivergent 8 yr old; the dental tech was gentle and very receptive to understanding how she could accommodate his needs. Highly recommend!

Dr. Shaeffer is the best dentist I have ever had! I have been going to him since he opened Blue Creek Dental but I worked with him way before that! Him and his staff are so friendly and professional. They take their time to explain everything and help you understand and make you feel at ease. I moved out of state and still drive 8 hours to continue going to him! I had an emergency last year and he was able to squeeze me in and get me an emergency appointment with an endodontist too. Definitely recommend!

My wife had been going here for a decade, but recently changed jobs and needed to change her dentist for insurance reasons. Her new dentist was absolutely horrified at what is going on with my wife, who just went to Blue Creek in January for her cleaning. Due to bruxism, her gums had receeded and she had cracked 3 teeth and needs crowns. There is no way all this happened in just 6 months. She is actually the one who pressed them to get a night guard. They didn't even suggest it! Save yourself, and your teeth from this practice. On top of that, she has recently called and the office staff has been beyond rude and unwilling to help with the insurance questions.

Dr. Schefer is great but the practice is horribly run. Despite having great health and dental insurance, we got a bill for $250 after a routine check up. Called (after many calls and messages left) and his staff said it was just an error and we didn't owe anything. Just got the same bill a year later - called and this time his staff said it wasn't submitted to our insurance but now too much time has passed and it can't be submitted, so now we have to pay the bill. Would not recommend unfortunately unless you've got the time and money to deal with this kind of hassle.

The hygienists are true pros and Dr. Schaeffer is great to work with. He is slow to recommend procedures that other dentists might justify as urgent but are not truly medically necessary. For example: I have a crown that needs to be replaced sometime in the future, but it is still functioning well. While some dentists would like the revenue, he is OK with "kicking that can down the road" until it is truly needed. As a 51-year-old, I appreciate that the longer I put off a crown replacement, the lower the chance that it will need to be done again in this lifetime. Our family of 5 has been going there for years. Highly recommend.

Just had my first visit at Blue Creek Dental yesterday, and I had a very positive experience. I was nervous about my appointment because I was overdue for a cleaning but Dr. Shaeffer and the entire staff there were friendly, informative, and professional. Dr. Shaeffer and the dental hygienist Sam both made sure that I was both comfortable and informed. They took the time to explain my x-rays and calmed my anxieties. Despite my nervousness, I felt welcomed and appreciated. Overall, it was a great experience. I also didn't feel judged or shunned for waiting too long to come in. I even received a follow up call the next day to make to see how I was feeling. I would recommend this practice to anyone. Just make sure to book your appointments far enough in advance. I actually look forward to my next visit!
