Absolutely the best Western Dental in Los Angeles. The receptionist are the best . Always polite and professional . Be on time and be in a dental chair in less then 15 minutes . I went to an appointment and my Dr had called off so i got to take a 45 minute nap in a safe enviroment. I was tired . Thats service. A friend went with me and when i awoke from my slumber and returned to my car he was asleep . He was tired too. . They finished and im 100 percent happy with everyone. Thanks i can ???
If I could give negative stars I would. This was the worst dental experience I've ever had by a long shot. I am not one to typically write a bad review, I love championing small businesses who are diligently creating a wonderful experience for their customers. However, I do not want anyone to visit this location and have the same experience I did. I am in a small population of people who love going to the dentist and this was an almost traumatic experience for me. I am not sure what is happening at Western Dental, but it is not a dentist practice. The whole process from start to finish was abysmal. I ended up filing a grievance with my insurance because of my experience. I waited over 45 minutes in the waiting room to be seen. I had to ask multiple times how long it would be before seeing the doctor (the whole process took over 2 hours for a "general cleaning"). It can't even be called that because they did not even clean my teeth -- they tried to convince me that simply polishing my teeth was sufficient. I've never been to a dentist that didn't floss your teeth or even look into my mouth. The docotor looked at my Xrays and basically walked out. Truly disappointing but please seek your dental services elsewhere.
Everyone from the receptionist to the dentist has been professional and they make sure that you are comfortable. They also excel at keeping all dental instruments sanitary before and during your appointment.
The doctor had terrible bed manners. Spent all of one minutes with us. He did not answer any questions properly. He was more interested in upselling than treating my wife’s tooth. Will not go the Western dental again. Ended up using another much better doctor. Parking is available in the min-mall. Must mention the staff was kind helpful.
TERRIBLE!! I am not surprised that most Western Dental locations have only 2 stars - I would give 0* - we have been going there for a few years but almost each time there is some problem... they either make us wait for 45min or even an hour, they never know what our appts are for... we get there, scheduled for a cleaning, and they ask "what are you scheduled for?" - why do they not know? Then the hygenist is not available, with another patient or on lunch... why did they schedule us for a time that the hygenist is with another patient or on lunch? When we are scheduled for a cleaning they want to take x-rays all of a sudden, even though they have taken x-rays 3 times this year already... all they are interested in is getting the most money from our insurance company. They claim crowns are needed where no other dentist recommends crowns to make money. I am so happy we have a new reliable dentist now that we can trust!! WESTERN DENTAL IS THE WORST!! Especially this office on Venice Blvd in Mar Vista!! Extremely unorganized and professional, front desk, as well as manager and staff. Never again!!
I went to Western dental to see about getting some work done. They took my name and call me rapidly for the appointment. It was a little difficult dealing with the office staff that don't work in this particular office. As is usual these days we had to get prior authorization. I was told the process would take about 30 days but it happened in no time. Once that authorization came they sent me a text and I was there the next day. I'm on my way to a new smile.
FINALLY, under new management. Hector is back as Manager, not assistant. His pleasant personality, professionalism, organization and jaw dropping, detailed technical knowledge of every aspect of dental procedures makes this old diva extremely happy. Atmosphere and pleasant personalities of staff, second to none. Michael, an excellent detailed technician, had me laughing hysterically with his mimics of Donald Duck and other characters, a marvelous hit with kids, big and small. This Western Dental is a long awaited blessing.
I’m giving 2 stars not because of the receptionists who are always helpful but because of the lonnnnng wait time. My appointment for cleaning was at 11 AM. However I didn’t get done until a little after 2 PM. This has happened every time I’ve visited. It would be appreciated to be able to come at the time when they can actually clean my teeth and not have me sitting and waiting for so long. I understand that they may be understaffed at times, but every time!? I feel it’s really disrespectful to my time. 31/2 hours for cleaning is way too long.
I’ve been assigned Western Dental via my insurance. I’ve been there twice now and both times it’s been a very unpleasant experience. First time I waited for an hour and a half to be seen. After x-rays I spent another hour waiting in the dentist chair to receive a certain kind of deep cleaning that wasn’t covered by insurance. They told me I have periodontal disease and need to buy a kit for over $1,000 to keep it in check. My last dentist never mentioned any problems with my guns/teeth, having been there just months before. It was very confusing why I wasn’t getting a regular cleaning. Seems they were looking for ways to get my money. Finally I couldn’t sit there anymore, rescheduled and left. My next visit I waited an hour and a half in waiting room. When I got to the chair I tried to clarify what kind of cleaning I was getting and if it was covered by insurance but really didn’t get an answer. I said let’s just get this done with. The doctor scrapped my teeth which I found unusual because every other dentist I’ve been to the assistant cleans the teeth. Then the assistant took over and polished. Then very sloppily slapped sticky flouride on my teeth. Wiped my face with a towel & I was done. I felt like a piece of meat. Turns out they tell me it was covered by insurance & they want me back for cleaning every 3 months. Each time covered by insurance? I don’t know. When I got home I brushed my teeth after the 30 minute required time for the flouride to sit and it gunked up my new toothbrush. I’ve never had a toothbrush ruined after visiting the dentist. I’ve had many dentists over the years. This place has so far been the worst. I’m trying to figure out why they don’t match up to other dental offices. Is it a funding issue? They don’t have the money to buy a better brand if flouride? They don’t make enough money working there to care about pride in their jobs? They aren’t appreciated from the higher ups at the location? I just don’t get it. It’s a very unpleasant experience and I’m not looking forward to going back. I would change dentists, but reading reviews from the other offices provided by Anthem, they all seem to be equally incompetent.
