University Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Had to have an emergency tooth extraction ... this was the best experience I've ever had with any dental work in my life. Perfect balance of caring and professionalism mixed with direct, to-the-point actions and words. A nod to the teamwork and cohesiveness it takes to accomplish that without feeling rushed on one end or emotionally fake on the other. I could go on and on about the small details that made me feel comfortable the second I approached the front door and every little detail throughout the waiting room and office. Cleanliness, tidyness, employee attitudes ... top notch. Maybe invest in some more comfortable chairs in the waiting room ... although, admittedly, with the amount of pain I was in on day two of a cracked, infected tooth and swollen jaw nothing would've been comfortable so take this comment with a grain of salt. Even the little signs and display are in frames or stuck to windows beautifully like they literally measured out pieces of scotch tape and made sure they were perfectly even across the paper. I know that might seem like nothing to some people but that attention to the tiniest details speaks volumes about them. I could imagine how much they'd care about me if they cared about such minor visual details throughout.

My experience at this dental office was nothing short of amazing. The office was clean and the staff was kind and attentive. I especially like how as I waited in the examining room for the dentist, the nurse talked with me about what would be taking place, was knowledgeable and stayed cheerful as she assisted the doctor. The doctor was quick, a bit humorous, but extremely focused. I would recommend the facility to anyone in need of dental work! Sherry Curran

The staff here are very polite and informative…It was an extremely smooth experience for something I had never had, an extraction. The word alone had me a little anxious but the end results were great. I would definitely recommend this group. I am feeling great today!

Nothing but a positive experience! From the day I called and booked my consultation to talking to the receptionist it was a smooth process from the very beginning! Paper work is done online which is easy and only had to fill out a small amount of paper work in office ! They are very helpful and informative! Dr Block and his team made the appointment go smoothly and answered my questions and concerns! Dr Block was super nice , understanding, and made sure i knew what to expect when planning / scheduling and getting to the surgery ! Gave me a load down of what will happen , what to expect , and what recovery will look like ! Even explained what anesthesia will be like ! He was super funny, really nice to speak with ,and just honestly made the experience a lot less nerve racking & more caring than my previous experience at another oral surgery clinic! And University Oral and Max Facial surgery clinic is very updated and the office and examining rooms are very clean and comfortable as well as updated and modern ! His team of assistants were sweet and so nice to talk to ! They all made me feel heard and listened! And i know im in good hands here ! Lastly , the receptionists are really nice and do a great job to make sure that your checked in and are ready to be seen by the dr ! They also are super easy to talk to and let you know if they need anything from you or if they have to tell us anything about our upcoming visits ! I know that at my future surgery appointment i will be taken care of and be in good hands ! Not nervous at all :) And will recommend this place to family and friends for any oral surgery needs ! Thanks Dr Block for making my experience better than my previous experience with oral surgeon !

Dr. Brown and his staff are amazing!! There are actually no words I could use to express just how great they are! From the cleanliness of the office, the wonderful personalities of the staff, and how accommodating they were during my urgent stressful situation!!! Thank you a million times over!!!

I want to say what a great office staff. I stopped in hoping to find out what coverage my daughter had. She needs her wisdom teeth removed. Anther surgeon’s staff at another office was not so nice. Monique and Toni went over and above to research both of my daughter’s insurance. They gave us an estimate of what we would owe , which was considerably less than the other. Their help was tremendous. We will be making an appointment soon. I highly recommend this practice.

Hello Well, my experience is quite different. Drs were exceptional, its the front of the house is my issue, with the admin staff and the questionable billing practices. - I called them and said i was in pain and my face was swollen. Said we we see you on Tuesday for extraction. 3 days later. We are closed on Monday, veterans day. - My husband called and pleaded with them to have a better understanding should I be on antibiotic or speak to the oral surgeon. nope see you Tuesday. - then we called back and she said dr should have called you in a RX during your last visit, he did not, argumentative at best. - I then called back and said I don't have any guidelines or updates for what to do or costs. Response, oh don't eat anything after midnight and it will cost you $900 for anesthesia. I said $900 for just anesthesia, she said yes. no breakdown nothing. You would have thought someone would have called me the day PRIOR to oral surgery to give me guidelines. I had to call them. - I was in so much pain and the swelling was getting worse that I called my primary dentist to get his counsel. HIS staff had to call and force the front desk to call me in a prescription. the person has the nerve to say you didn't tell us that. Um, i called and my husband called. you weren't listening. incredibly rude - fast forward to day of simple extraction. that will be $900. I said this is all for anesthesia right because you know i have dental insurance, yes all for anesthesia, which i understood wasn't covered. - Dr Block was amazing everything went great, thank you!! Overall comments - The lack of customer service and addressing patient needs is unacceptable in a practice which most dentists and endodontists are recommending to patients. - However, the Drs of this practice need to know what is going on in the front of the house. from a clinical, billing issues and customer service perspective in addressing urgent needs. Unacceptable across the board for basic needs. - Multiple issues with the front desk not doing their job or what's going on or simply don't care bc the practice is so big. - i'm owed a hefty refund for services covered and will continue to follow up weekly with the practice until this is resolved.

5 stars are not enough!! Being told by your general dentist that you have a fractured root and need an extraction, for me, was sad and scary. Talking with Toni at reception to make the appointment was the first step toward easing my anxiety, with her fun loving humor and prompt scheduling magic. Meeting Dr. Brown's staff of understanding, empathetic professionals set me more at ease and then came Dr. Brown. What a wonderful human being. He was fully present during my appointment, unrushed and listening to all my worries. He has an excellent bedside manner and a great sense of humor. We agreed on a plan and I could not be happier. Dr. Brown even went out of his way to personally call my pharmacy to make sure all prescribed meds would be available to me because we were heading into a weekend. Like I said, 5 Stars are Not Enough.
