Michelle is the best Dental Hygienist I've ever had. She's efficient, thorough, very professional and always has a positive attitude. She takes time to remember specific things about her patients and is very accommodating. Dr. T is also great.
This used to be a great office. Now it's always busy. They have called and rescheduled us 3 different times now. They will tell you how they can't get you in now for another 3 months or more because something came up when in reality, they just don't have the staff and overbook. At least that's according to the hygienists in the back. The hygienists don't even like the front desk people because they lie so much to the customers. We got called and told they needed to move our appointment we made 6 months ago yet again and no time slots for the same time we needed due to kids being in school meant we can't come in for another 3 months. The front desk will try to lie and say they have no manager to speak too if you ask to speak to someone or that they are not in town. I've heard them talking badly about patients when they think no one hears. I hope new offices open near us so we can move all of our accounts to somewhere else. Getting treated like an insurance number sucks. That's why they send notices out all the time near the end of the year asking you to come use your benefits for more overpriced services you don't need. Also, they've changed which insurances they take and over charge for many services now compared to other offices. Our family spends a lot of money there on extras products but that is done now. Dr. Tuttle used to be a great office but as it's gotten bigger and the staff ruder it might be time to look for a new dentist. Tired of having things get pushed back because they over book. Last time it was because the dentists were taking an early vacation according to the front desk.
My husband and I have gone to Tuttle Family Dentistry for years and have always loved them until my last visit. I went in for a cleaning on a Friday and they recommended that I have a cavity filled. They decided to do it the same day and numbed the left side of my mouth for the procedure. The filling took about 30 min and after the procedure the dental assistant mentioned that his drill got really hot during the procedure and caused a small burn on the inside of my left cheek. He said that it might feel a little sore and to just take ibuprofen as needed but it would heal within a day or two. I couldn’t feel the burn since I was completely numb for a few hours. Once I went home and the lidocaine was wearing off, I realized that my cheek was very sore and starting to swell up. I looked in the mirror and realized that this burn was not small. It was most of the inside of my left cheek. I emailed the office that night to inform them that I was in pain, had swelling and my face was bruising. Unfortunately, the office was closed for the weekend but I figured I would hear from them first thing on Monday morning. Monday morning came around and I didn’t hear from them. I called them on Monday afternoon and asked to speak to someone about the burn in my mouth. The front desk said “oh yeah, I saw your email but I was waiting to talk to the regional manager about it and then she never came in. The doctor you saw isn’t here so I’ll have him call you tomorrow.” I wasn’t offered to come in for someone to look at the burn or the option to talk to another doctor. So I waited for the doctors call on Tuesday. Never heard from anyone at the office. So it’s now Wednesday, 5 days after the procedure and I still have a painful burn in my mouth and facial swelling and bruising. I am still having trouble eating because it’s so painful. I finally went to another dentist to have my burn evaluated. They prescribed me an antibacterial mouthwash to prevent infection and gave me further instructions to take care of the burn to help it heal faster. It’s very disappointing that I never heard from the office when they injured me. It’s also very frustrating that the burn was downplayed and made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal in the office just because I was numb and couldn’t feel anything. I will be going to a different office from now on.
Dr. Tuttle rocks, and if you're lucky to get Michelle as your hygienist then you're golden. The only real problem is they keep rescheduling our appointments. I think they don't have enough folks on staff or something because this never used to be a problem. The front desk isn't very understanding either. The have a new personality up there that's not the kindest and really doesn't care. We rescheduled once and the woman we spoke with didn't actually reschedule it because we didn't get an email or text. I guess she was upset at my wife and just said she gave us a slot but didn't bother to actually make the appointment because my wife was justifiably upset after being rescheduled twice in a row. So, my wife shows up only to waste her time. If we knew the name of the woman who did that, I'd complain until she was fired. Since we can't do that, I guess we will just be looking for a new place like all of these other customers who are dealing with these kinds of issues. The biggest problem this office has right now is that they switched out of certain insurance networks. I heard two people complaining in the waiting room being overcharged due to the insurance switch. I'd be pissed if i was hit with an unexpected $300+ bill too. I'm lucky they still take ours, but this office is changing and not for the better. It feels different now and this used to be the best dentist office in town. It's a shame because we really like the dentists and hygienists here. The front desk needs some help though and the young women who act like the Tik Tok generation need to be a little more understanding and professional. Whoever is taking their feeling out on the customers will eventually get caught. Karma's always finds a way.
We used to recommend Tuttle Family Dentistry to any one looking for a great dentist but not any more…absolutely horrible. I believe they have lost their personal touch that we loved so much and their office staff is horrible, maybe they have gotten too big for their britches! Absolutely no one communicates with one another and the billing/insurance department is a freaking joke…their office screwed up big time in January with my husband, first no one let us know they had dropped our insurance at the beginning of the year and then when my husband was actually at the visit he was told by the staff that we had wonderful insurance and a low co-pay which he paid at the time of the visit. Low and behold, again no one mentioned we were now out of network, so in June we get a bill for $350+, we talked to multiple people in the office on multiple days and we were finally told it was their fault as no one actually called to verify insurance on the day he was in the office and that those fees would be written off and everything was good to go. Now over a month later, we get a letter in the mail from a collection agency on the same fees. Horrible, you can’t do your job so now you ruin someone’s credit!!! Absolutely terrible, I wouldn’t recommend this office to my worst enemy!
I have had 2 pleasant experiences with multiple appointments, including a filling and 2 temporary crowns. Looking forward to a couple more appointments to finish up the details. Active listening, education and showed me extraordinary respect. Offering education and always make sure I have a follow-up appointment. THANK YOU The hygienists are thorough, gentle, and make them laugh!!!
Dr. Tuttle and his staff always go above and beyond to make me feel 100% comfortable while I am in their chair. Everyone is super nice and helpful. I appreciate the quickness of my visits and the thoroughness of the work. Definitely the best dentist I have ever been to.
I started seeing Dr Tuttle many years ago when it was just him in a small office. I believe because the practice has grown, quality has been sacrificed. The dentist doesn’t actually do the crown, it’s the hygienist. I went in countless times to get my crown fixed but it was never really right, I just got sick of complaining and went somewhere else. The new dentist quickly fixed this crown and I feel so much better. Unfortunately, I can’t go back after that.
Awesome all around. Friendliest staff. The hygienist was fantastic. Dr Burgos is so kind and was able to fix a previous crown quickly and everything feels great! Will definitely be back.
Long time patient. Have always felt that the team here at Tuttle has treated me with great care and respect. They fixed a major issue that a previous office couldn't years ago and I was "sold" at that point. I make a longer drive to stay a patient here and it's well worth it
