Dr. Hemphill has done a wonderful job taking over this practice. I've experienced nothing but kindness and genuine concern for my dental health at my appointments. That's not to mention that he got back to me almost immediately on a Sunday when I had an urgent situation come up and he was able to help me remotely and see me first thing the next day. That's the level of care we all wish for in our dental or medical doctors but so rarely find. If you want caring, personalized dental care from a great doctor and his support staff this is the place to go.

From the time I walked in the door to Tolland Hill Family Dental to the time I left, I felt so welcome and at ease. I get very anxious and nervous at the dental office and they made me feel so relaxed. Dr Ma explained everything to me and he was so gentle when he did work on me. Kay there hygienist was so awesome and thorough.

I was referred by a friend to this practice, after not having a dental visit in quite some time. Upon entering the office, I was greeted by the most friendly front desk staff. They took my insurance information and indicated, in detail, what my coverage and out of pocket expenses would be, they are so thorough and knowledgeable. The hygienist for my visit was Kay, she explained every aspect of the visit, including the cleaning, xrays and final exam, my teeth have never felt so incredible. Kay was so kind and her attention to detail is unmatched. Dr. Ma came in to do my exam and instructed me on the proper way to floss and educated me on preventative care, his dogma is not one that most of us have heard before, he educates you properly to take care of your teeth and gums so that you don't require further treatment, what a great philosophy to oral health! His conservative approach is so comforting. This is a great office, I would recommend it to anyone in the surrounding area, as well as to many who may have to travel, it is worth the trip, they are fantastic!

I had nothing but positive experiences with this practice when it was owned by Dr. Daniels'. Unfortunately, he retired in December of 2023, as well as his hygienist, and I found the new hygienist to be lacking in bedside manner and experience. I had two cavities and was told to come back for a follow-up appointment. It wasn't until after I got my cavities filled at the follow-up appointment that I was informed by office staff that they no longer take my insurance (since ownership changed), and I was responsible for the entire bill. If they no longer take my insurance- why wasn't I notified after the initial appointment for my cleaning and x-rays? Extremely unprofessional and disreputable. I have since changed dentists.

Tolland Hill Family Dental is a step above the rest. We started going to West Hill Family Dental 20 years ago when my wife and I were married. We had a long standing, excellent relationship with them while we started a family and one by one, our three children also became loyal clients. When we moved away to Massachusetts, we still drove the hour and a half trip there for our dental needs because we were so happy with their professional manner and attention to detail. They were always so kind and accommodating even during the Covid madness during 2019-2021. When we eventually moved back to Connecticut we settled in Storrs, right near UConn. When we found out West Hill was expanding and opening a location right near us in Tolland, we were thrilled. As soon as we walked into Tolland Hill Family Dental for our initial appointments, we felt right at home. They took such good care of our family and always accommodated our crazy schedules. You know you’ve found a great dentist when your 7 year old can’t wait to get their teeth cleaned. We look forward to many years depending on them for all of our dental needs.
