Tae S. Kong DDS

First, a bit of disclosure: I am a retired physician, and former medical school faculty. These factors are relevant to my review. I have no financial, personal, or other ties to Dr. Kong, his practice, or any of his staff. So as to be concise, I’ll omit most details. The gist of my experience with Dr. Kong is two-fold. The reason for my initial encounter with him was pain/discomfort with a tooth indicating a possible need for a root canal. His staff was very courteous, friendly, and efficient in scheduling that appointment and getting me from waiting area to exam room. Immediately on meeting Dr. Kong, it was obvious that he is a very caring, kind, and thoughtful person, and applies these qualities thoroughly to his practice of endodontics. His evaluation was prefaced by explanation, and proved thorough, efficient, and professional, while remaining always personal and kindly. On finding that a root canal was appropriate, and having the time to do the procedure then and there, he displayed the same traits; he was never hurried, explained, listened, and explained again as necessary, and performed the procedure in as kind a manner as any I’ve ever undergone, if not moreso. The results were exactly what one would wish—a perfectly performing tooth, completely pain-free. My second appointment with Dr. Kong was completed this morning. Having had time to recover, heal, etc. from the root canal, I returned for evaluation of a tooth that, at the time of the initial visit, the referring dentist was somewhat concerned about, but unsure. At today’s visit Dr. Kong was if anything even more pleasant and kind, unhurried, and an exemplary listener. The evaluation was again efficient, thorough, professional, and imbued with sensitivity—and, thankfully, showed that all was good. But wait, there’s more. I brought to Dr. Kong’s attention another dental issue with which my regular dentist and I had been struggling, hoping to ask one question I thought his expertise might be helpful in illuminating. He listened carefully, asked questions, listened some more, then examined the area involved, and gave a very thorough, well-reasoned, and well-presented explanation of the situation as he saw it. Simply put, the entire experience was of the kind that we all hope medical professionals will provide—caring, kind, professional, effective—all done in the context of caring not for just a tooth, or this or that problem, but of caring for a particular patient, with a particular history and a particular set of concerns. I am very pleased with my experiences and very impressed by Dr. Kong’s abilities from every perspective—including both patient and fellow medical professional. For those needing endodontic care, I very, very highly recommend Dr. Tae Kong and University Endodontics.

Absolutely terrible service blonde and brown black curly headed workers absolutely have negative attitudes like two dumb dumb dumb dumb Karens I will not return here for another root canal service they don’t care about your feelings and they don’t let you speak on your behalf for your own health although someone else is paying for you when you’re over the age of 18, it is known by the law over 18 years old including your 18 years old you have to start making your own decisions, and I am still in pain from my teeth can’t even chew or bite food it hurts to do so and plus I sleep on my sides and it hurts to sleep on my sides now and can’t get a really good nights sleep and Dr. Tae Kongs office please teach your curly headed people with blonde and brown black haired employees this message that was once taught to me when I was in High School treat everyone the way you want to be treated!

The root canal was fast and painless. Dr Kong answered all my questions to my satisfaction. The final filling was done at my dentist who seemed impressed by the "microscopic" root canal in my very small tooth, so I took that as a sign the equipment (or skill?) Dr Kong used was better than other endontists. Dr Kong was out of network for my dental insurance, but I had received positive feedback from a coworker that they worked well with my insurance and had done a good job on his root canal. I had the same experience with the insurance and my successful root canal.

Dr. Kong and ALL of his staff are kind, patient, polite and caring! My son was deathly afraid of having a root canal and Dr. Kong put him at ease. He and his assistant Anita were encouraging the entire way through the procedure. When he was done my son said, "Oh! are we done?" When we got to the general dentist for the crown, she said, "I like the work that endodontist did. It's really good clean work." Thank you University Park Endodontics!
