UPDATE: I just called my insurance Access Dental and they said there was never an authorization for the cleaning entered by this dental office! That is completely messed up and unprofessional. Why did this happen? Anyways I changed my dentist and I hope I have a much better experience over there. Not cool. Original review: I went to this Dentist around late September or early October for the very first time and they put in a request or whatever to my insurance for a cleaning. A month later I asked them about whether it was approved or denied and they said they would put in the request again. They never notified me whether it was approved or denied. Today I tried calling them but something about their phones not working with ATT so lucky me I have ATT and wasn't able to contact them except through their mother company Smile Dental. I called to cancel an appointment that I made a year ago and forgot about until they sent me a text about a reminder three days ago. I asked them about that request they made to my insurance about the teeth cleaning and the woman said she doesn't know what happened there. But I don't understand why the Dental Office wasn't straight up about it. Why couldn't they just say the insurance denied it or couldn't they just tell me how much it would be out of pocket? I've been meaning to call my insurance to send me elsewhere because there are other aspects of this Dentist and Dental Office I didn't like. For one, a filling the Dentist did kept hurting when I chewed I went back a few months later and he "fixed" it but it didn't help. I'm going to hopefully change my Dentist and lets see what their opinion is and hopefully my insurance tells me what's going on with that cleaning request. So annoying. I see another person who left a review about them putting a request to the insurance but they also were never updated so that makes me wonder why they do this???
Amazing Dental care!! Very friendly.. no pain!!! Great Staff .. New Lady Dentist.. she’s great.. ???
Staff was supposed to send an authorization request to my mother's insurance back in November of 2020. They advised me that I would be receiving a call from the dentist's office once they find out if it got approved. I called a few times to follow up on this and I was told that it will take some more time to approve and that again, I will be getting a call back. I called once more to get an update (more than a month later) and found out that the authorization request was not in their system. The only excuse they could give was "For some reason". What reason was it that this was not put in place in the beginning? They could not give me a straight answer. Either someone forgot or was negligent and never sent it. My mother has been without her teeth for a long time, and I have been jumping through hoops to get this taken care of multiple times. I caved in and asked how much it would be if I just paid out of pocket for her dentures, instead of going through insurance and possibly waiting forever again for an approval. The lady on the phone (Emma) told me that I could not pay out of pocket because my mother has insurance and that they would get in trouble. I asked if this policy was just their office or if it applied everywhere else across the board. She said this also applies everywhere else. This did not make sense to me, so I confirmed this with not only her dental insurance, but with other dentists. The insurance and other dentists told me they have never heard of this and that my mother does have the option to obtain dentures by paying out of pocket and not using her insurance. So not only did this dental office not submit her authorization, but they also gave me false information.
From the front staff who got me in two minutes (had an emergency) after my 2 hour drive, to explaining each procedure, to having a complete conversation with need work, ordering my anti-biotic, and furnishing some needed pain pills and sending the X-rays with suggestions for me to share with my dentist in CA. … everything was done in the most professional way .. I could not give a higher recommendation.. Thanks to the entire team.. John Casas
I recommend everyone to stay away from this place! This is the worst dental place in the San Fernando valley. Nobody here has an Actual Degree of dentistry that I seen in the office.I’ve had a root canal preformed here twice and I’m still feeling pain from my tooth! These people charged me $350 for a tooth that they didn’t even want to give me. These people and the insurance companies need to treat people better and actually take their patients words into consideration. These people will try to rob/scam you anyway possible and keep the medicine they are supposed to use on you and keep it for themselves to get high on. Disgrace of an office and staff.
This place is such a rip off. They charge you all kinds of money out of pocket, even though you have insurance. Now I got a bill from UCLA where they send for biopsy to pay them more money. Apparently they charge you at the dental office, but don't pay UCLA, so now we are getting billed. They will rip you off.
