Dr. Hamrick and his team are very nice. But he thought my pain was psychological and didn’t believe what I was telling him. I told him to save my gums and he didn’t and now I have a hole in my face that won’t heal because he didn’t listen to his patient. I then tried to email his coordinator for my full record several times and never got a response. Requesting a refund so I can pay for further surgeries to fix it.
Fantastic experience in every way. I needed a free gingival gum graft and was very nervous about the procedure and recovery. I researched to find the best periodontist in the Triangle, and also asked friends and colleagues. Dr Hamrick’s name kept coming up, time after time. When I went for my consultation, I was so impressed by his warmth and patience - he has a wonderful bedside manner. His staff also appeared to be top notch, and the office was lovely, modern, and spotless, with the most high tech equipment. Even though, with traffic, he is almost an hour away from my home in Cary, my decision to have him perform the procedure was an easy one. On the morning of the procedure, I was incredibly nervous (I’m a big baby about this stuff!) but he immediately put me at ease and, with the help of nitrous oxide (which I highly recommend! Like floating on a cloud without a care in the world, and you are immediately “back to normal” once they turn it off) the procedure was an absolute breeze. It was also so much faster than I anticipated it would be. I happily walked out a few minutes after the procedure and drove myself home. My recovery was great as well! The grafted area (for me, the gums below my bottom front teeth) had zero pain. As for my palette, where he took the donor tissue from, I had very little discomfort… which was so much less than I expected. Yes, it was a bit sore for a few days once the stent was removed (which is to be expected) but that soreness was totally manageable even without Tylenol or Advil, and not at all a big deal. So, if you need a gum graft, I cannot recommend Dr Hamrick highly enough. The crème de la crème, the best of the best!
Very close to a miracle. I can't thank him and his staff enough for helping me get rid of the infection in my gums that I believe I had for over 20 years. So thankful!
Bad experience all the way around. I paid for a complete cleaning by Stephanie the hygienist and I received a partial cleaning. I received hundreds of cleanings in my life but never received a partial cleaning. She said that since I didn't do the Cavatron (spelling?) cleaning she ran out of time. When I set the appointment, no one ever said "You'll only get a partial cleaning if you don't do the Cavatron cleaning". Stephanie I thought was also unfriendly at the beginning of the appointment. She did become more friendly as the cleaning took place. Not sure what that was all about. Dr. Whitley the dentist, sold me on getting a procedure previous to this cleaning, to tighten up a space of 8 at a back tooth. The rest of my teeth are much better (just that one area from maybe a wisdom tooth removal many years ago they said). He said he could probably get it to a 3. After the procedure and once he was paid, he changed his tune to "you may lose the tooth down the road". He is a nice guy but I thought I was deceived somewhat. Then Teresa in billing took several months to correctly file for my insurance even though I kept telling her she is sending the claim to the wrong address. The office does not participate in insurance but out of courtesy they will file the paperwork and I appreciate that. However, I really felt that Teresa just didn't care at all and so never gave my claim which is very important to me any importance what so ever. Teresa also will never return a call. I had to always inform Susanne (Treatment Coordinator, who is very good at her job and always helped me) that Teresa won't return calls. The only way I found to get Teresa to return a call was to inform Susanne who would see to it that she would return the call. What a nightmare.
