I hate even leaving this review but I want others to be warned. It’s been about a year since we’ve been back, we didn’t have insurance for a year. But all the appointments we went to before were amazing! Absolutely no issues. My boys LOVED the dentist. My daughter had trauma to her face at one point and the dentist appt was like a week after that. So she lost her mind when they’d try to touch her face. At this time they didn’t have people who could put kids to sleep so we were sent to a surgery place, which I agreed because she had anesthesia not to long before due to her trauma and she woke up just fine. Confused but fine. This time she woke up screaming in excruciating pain. She screamed for 2 hours after that and I was traumatized and decided I would never allow that again as it’s my job to protect my kids. Mind you none of this was their fault. It was at fault of the surgery center. Anyways now we’re back to our year later appointments and there’s been LOTS of changes. All of the staff is still friendly and kind except one. It was a female dentist that when she recommended my 4 year old be put to sleep I said I wasn’t comfortable with that and she immediately got defensive like I was attacking her judgement. She said “well what do you expect to do?” As a person who has no idea what options are there, I said “maybe I can hold him and comfort him?” She assumed I meant pin him down and force him to deal with it, and when she said that I gave her a crazy look of ABSOLUTELY NOT. How can you even assume that. That’s absurd. Then she kept leaning into me all awkward and had zero special awareness. She kept repeating that she would be oh so happy to send the X rays elsewhere and that I would have to sign a refusal of treatment and I didn’t even refuse at all. I said I’m not comfortable with the anesthesia. There’s nitros and other options. She didn’t even want to consider those. Someone else suggested them to me. I’m still deciding if I want to go back. If I do it’ll have to be one of the other dentist because I will never go back to her. These are our kids, she’s treating us like we don’t matter. If I’m paying for treatment, I’m expressing my opinion and we can work on meeting in the middle. Not just your way or the highway. Literally. I hope the guy who started it can fix this issue. Because I loved his bedside manner and everyone else’s. I want to go back but not if she gives us any kind of care. I cried after that appointment because these are my babies and the thought of them going through that kind of pain with someone who obviously don’t care about them was just heart breaking.

We are so pleased with Dr. Bullock. He helped us feel confident and safe with the lip and tongue tie procedure we needed for our daughter. He is very well educated and a very gentle spirit. I'm so grateful for the time he invested in our consultation and the post procedure care as well. If you are in need of a lip/tongue tie procedure for your child, I highly recommend Dr. Bullock.

Update at bottom. They filter their reviews!! They tried to send the text confirmation to my home phone and didn't try my cell. I am sure they received an error when the text didn't go through. If they would have looked at the papers I filled out I now I wrote my cell on my kids paper work because there was not enough slots for all the numbers so I manually wrote what they were. I called to confirm the appointment because I didn't get a text reminder. They changed the number they had in there system to the right one finally. They said my appointments had been given away because it wasn't confirmed properly, wanting me to come in and hour earlier, which I couldn't do to living 1 hour and a half away. Due to their errors I took a day off work for nothing. I called to see if my appointments were still available and they hung up on me 3 times from my cell. They answered but no response and click they hung up. I called back from my house phone and they answered promptly and they were surprised it was me. They have called ID and thought I would have called from my cell. They seem over worked and over booked. I am sure they got an error when sending the original confirmation text and they didn't even try to text the right number. Sad. No one took a lunch the day we were there from 11 am until 2 pm so definitely over worked. The dentist is good. One of the women dental hygienist would not listen to my daughter and scraped her teeth very hard even though her teeth were very sensitive since her braces have been removed.....the dentist was nice and respectful and seems smart. I will just be getting the cavities fixed that my kids need and find a new place. They filter the reviews and make it seem like they have 5 stars. Believe me they don't. I didn't even get an I'm sorry we didn't confirm properly. But they did try to get me in an hour earlier so I gave them a 3. So glad I got a 2nd opinion. At the smile spot Dr. Kyle thought that one of my son's only needed one cavity fixed vs 3 that Springfield kids dental thought. I am really so glad I got a 2nd opinion and didn't just blindly trust this place. And when you search this Business they still show 5 stars when that just isn't so. I would definitely be leary of this place. But they did make it easy to switch back to my old dentist which I wished I would have never left. I only left due to them always be so full because they are much better than this place. This place does not have conservative dental values.

My three children were seen at this dentist for cleanings. We drove from an hour and a half away because of the difficulty in finding a trustworthy pediatric dentist that accepts our insurance. Two of my kids needed fillings, and they squeezed them in right away so that we wouldn’t have to come back another day. Dr. Josh and staff were knowledgeable, caring, and patient, and made me feel very empowered in decisions for my children’s care. They even let my one child observe while fillings were done on my other two. We are excited to have found a place that we can trust and feel comfortable in. Worth the drive!

EDIT: I am INCREDIBLY grateful for someone reaching out to me to help make this situation better. I look forward to our next visit in October! (Old Review: We must have come on a "bad day". Based on all the reviews my expectations were much higher. This was my child's second visit to this office. The first time was INCREDIBLE. I genuinely was so excited to have found such a fun dentist for my child to grow up going to. However, today (4/23) I left disappointed and contemplating switching offices. We saw a different dentist than last time, (who is oddly not listed on the website so I have NO clue who we even saw). No prize either... My child is 2 and I tried to get her excited about the dentist before the appointment because she expressed she was scared, with the promise she would get a toy at the end and we were offered nothing but a toothbrush (that still had toothpaste on it that the dentist literally JUST brushed my child's mouth with! tossed straight into the bag) with a little toothpaste tube. Oh well, we'll try again 1 more time in 6 months and I'll be sure we see any other dentist next time.)
