Spencer Dental & Braces

The reason why I rate it so low is because I came in one day with an appointment and they told me my appointment has to be cancelled because they don’t have a hygienist to do my teeth and they rescheduled me to get my tooth pulled by a surgeon and I was told on my next appointment that I should be able to get my tooth pulled been waiting since June for my appointment to come up and they didn’t pull my tooth. They only X-rayed me and set an appointment up for another whole week or two. The surgeon came in the room, looked at my tooth for about two minutes didn’t ask me did I need anything like a prescription filled just told me I was all set and she walked out. I believe because it was the end of the day and I was the last patient, but the rest of the staff were very sweet.

I thought we had an appointment set up by an after hours phone for 11 am, but there was no trace on the books. My grandson was seen anyway, and we were out of there within an hour and a half, despite it being lunch time. I was grateful I didn't have to miss more work, and the staff was pleasant and helpful. This was the first time I had been back since it was Kool Smiles Mechanicsville, and my grand really needed to be seen. Another visit, quick and efficient. 45 minutes in and out for a filling. No complaints yet from the grandson.

They're is a HUGE waiting room that is 2/3 empty space with maybe 20 chairs and 2 tvs so high up on the walls you can barely see them. They took away EVERYTHING for the kids since they switched to Spencer's Dental. They decide to call back multiple children at one time instead of having a consistency in having a one patient come back after one has already left. The parents are only given a bench to sit on which barely sit 3 people. I believe that this dentist had to be a Covid-19 hot spot since parents are sitting elbow to elbow. Really considering changing dentist since Spencer's Dental is no longer child friendly like Kool Smiles. This dentist is office is setup for adults and not children. The enjoyment my kids had when going to Kool Smiles is completely different now with Spencer's Dental.

I had a cracked tooth and I needed to get it removed the same day. I called and they helped me schedule the next day to see the surgeon and I was able to get my tooth pulled the same day the staff was friendly they moved within a fast pace so I wasn't sitting and waiting for long time and they were pretty gentle. For my first time it was a good experience and now I'm setting up appointments for my whole family. I definitely recommend everyone come here.

Signing in has been a problem for me for quite some time. Due to scheduling, I most often show up 15-30 minutes early, but I have been told that I was late. This occurred yesterday and twice before. I was scheduled for 11:00 A.M. and the receptionist said my appoint was for 10:00 A.M. I showed her on my phone where they texted me the time reminder of my appointment. I advised her that I was turned away twice before because of the scheduled time they gave me and, the time I showed up ( 15-30) minutes early, they said I was late. Because of this, I had to reschedule twice before yesterday. This was agonizing for me. If I was not able to show her the scheduled time on my phone and the text reminder, I’m sure I would have been asked to reschedule. Also, my email address was listed incorrectly. I have corrected it numerous times on the updated forms, but it was never corrected. I pointed it out again yesterday, and was told it would be corrected right away(the same thing I was told previously)but it was not as of yesterday.
