Customer Reviews
Dr. Cohen's service and expertise are truly exceptional. Her depth of knowledge is remarkable, and she consistently goes above and beyond to provide insightful and helpful guidance. Every interaction with her is not only informative but also genuinely supportive, making complex topics easy to understand. I highly recommend Dr. Cohen for anyone seeking a professional who is both knowledgeable and incredibly attentive to her patients' needs.
I had an incredible experience at Sleep Apnea Dentist Of New England. The staff were so thorough, thoughtful and patient. Everyone seemed very knowledgeable of the mouth guard I was prescribed and they were so trustworthy and kind throughout the process. I have had my mouth guard for a few months now and my quality of sleep and quality of life has changed dramatically, I really didn’t think it was possible from using the appliance, but it works!!! I’m so thankful for finding Dr Cohen and her team. I highly recommend them, they’re the best!!!!
I’m 79 and have struggled with Complex Sleep Apnea (a combination of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (where my airway closes) and Central Sleep Apnea (where I stop breathing scores of times per hour) for several years. In 2014, I started with a CPAP machine, but still woke frequently and could tolerate the mask for no more than 4 hours, if that. More likely 2 hours. Then, after more sleep studies, the tubing on the machine was changed to counter unhealthy carbon dioxide levels. Then the off-label use of acetazolamide was added to help. But still the mask stayed on for just a couple of hours a night I was getting about 5 hours of sleep. My doctor on a number of occasions recommended that I be seen at Sleep Apnea Dentists of New England. I contacted them, but never followed through. For some reason I had a real aversion to the idea of a dental appliance. It didn’t help that I saw that horrific 60 Minutes piece on the dental device that was sold to fix patients’ jaws and improve breathing, but in fact destroyed their teeth and jaws. However, what I read about the negative consequences on health caused by sleep apnea gave me pause. My grandson asked me not too long ago what I considered to be “old age”. Upon reflection I decided that I would consider 110 to be old age, and I want to stay as healthy as possible to see that milestone. And my sleep apnea was just been getting worse over time and I found myself falling asleep during the day. So I bit the bullet, set up, and kept an appointment at the clinic. I had great skepticism that the treatment would succeed and was all but determined that it would fail. That was June it is now September. Dr Cohn was amazing. Took time, was patient, answered all my questions, made multiple adjustments to my dental device. And here I am 3 months later. Sleeping 7 hours a night with the dental device, the CPAP machine, and the acetazolamide. Wide awake during the day. No more dozing off. It’s incredible! Astonishing even. Wish I had done this years ago. Is Dr Cohen a Miracle Worker? You decide. I just know my life has changed for the better. And so has my husband’s :-) !!!
I LOVE Sleep Apnea Dentists of New England because Dr. Vicki Cohn and her staff are AWESOME! Excellent customer service. Always friendly/polite. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea and was given the option to try the oral appliance instead of the CPAP machine. At first, I was a little hesitant to try it because I was not sure how it would feel. I tried it and I'm AMAZED at this appliance. It is painless! It has made my sleep nights 100% better. I recommend this appliance to anyone who has been diagnosed with sleep apnea. Don't be afraid to try it - it’s just like wearing a mouthguard :)
Dr. Vicki Cohn is terrific. I hated the CPAP machine and had one of the ones that got recalled. The dental appliance changed my life. No more snoring, no more sleep apnea episodes. My wife loves it! And my insurance covered the cost of it as a medical necessity, not a dental thing. You probably have to have a sleep study for this to occur.
Dr. Cohn and her team have changed my life! I’m on my second appliance for obstructive sleep apnea and Dr. Cohn has been amazing. She explains the differences of each appliance and reviews your specific issue and will advise on the best appliance to help with your apnea. The team uses the latest technology (no more doughy mold process) to get the appliance custom fit. She explains insurance coverage options and is open and transparent about costs and value. Everyone at the office is friendly, professional and super helpful! I cannot recommend this team enough!!
Many years ago, I received my first sleep apnea oral appliance directly from the pioneer of the technology Dr. Gail Demko. When she retired, I was somewhat unsure that anyone could fill her shoes, but Dr. Cohn and her team have done the impossible: Not only did she keep Dr. Demko's the world-class, life-changing, sleep apnea therapy but also improved and expanded its delivery. Sleep Apnea Dentists of New England now operates in a conveniently located state-of-art professional office that somehow even continues Dr. Demko's home office design that allowed patients to observe a relaxing bit of nature through large picture windows while being treated. Dr Cohn's level of professionalism extends to every member of her staff, including, most recently the extraordinary level of customer service provided by her Receptionist/Billing Coordinator/Office Manager Silvia. While talking insurance referral and co-pays with her counterparts in my primary care doctor's office, she went out of her way to advocate on my behalf. Her hard work should be commended, as she is truly a beacon of hope in a sea of increasing incompetence. If you have sleep apnea, and a CPAP machine hasn't helped, I will highly recommend Sleep Apnea Dentists.
