Sage Dental of Fort Myers (formerly Horizon One Dental)

I'm saddened to write this review as I have been a patient of Dr Kuhn's since I was a kid (20+ years). He made going to the dentist tolerable and I honestly loved Horizon One in general. I know people retire and eventually I was gonna have to get a new dentist but this practice did a complete 180 after being bought out. The atmosphere is different, gone is the professionalism, I haven't seen the Dr in a year when I used to see him every visit. The first cleaning I had was rough and a tad traumatic. I gave them another chance because I really liked Dr. Kuhn. Yesterday was supposed to be my second cleaning but I was told I needed a deep cleaning that was going to cost me over $200 dollars with insurance. I told them no as I didn't plan on having to pay anything today. My hygienist and some person (they didn't introduce themselves just randomly walked in) proceeded to speak in Spanish and then offered $50 off....HUH? I said No again, I just want a regular cleaning. They refused so I left. I have no issues with my teeth, the "pockets" they found were near my crowns/root canals which are fine and the "redness" was from them poking my gums so hard. I wasted my day for nothing and walked out appalled. I called and scheduled with a new private practice dentist closer to my home from Sage's parking lot. All good things come to an end eventually I suppose.

Today was my first time there and I only had the startup appt today. But, I met a hygienist, Maria, who checked my teeth and gums. She was super nice! Lleyema (sp?) was the tech who took all my pictures and she was excellent. I met one of the Dentists and he checked my teeth and was very detailed with explaining. Then check out was easy and they emailed me everything I signed. I’m really excited about building a relationship with this office.

My appointment today at Sage Dental determined that I need an implant for a Crown that cracked off. The staff, Implant Coordinator and dentist explained my options concisely and professionally. The first step in the implant process was begun immediately after my consent. I am impressed with their professionalism, their use of current technology and the way they communicate my individual needs.

I didn't get my cleaning due to the lack of dental care on my behalf. I needed more work than I thought. The dental assistance was super friendly and knowledgeable. (Forgot her name, sorry) The front desk girl Miss Amber was also very friendly and knowledgeable. A pleasure to talk with. I will return to get my treatment.. Keep up the great work ladies.

Don’t go here!!!!! I recently moved to the area and came here bc I loved my sage practice on the east coast but this place was TERRIBLE! They have zero compassion for someone with a fear of the dentist, they spoke to each other about me as if I wasnt in the room and they wanted to upcharge the cleaning AND did an optional X-ray without telling me it was optional that they don’t bill to the insurance so now they’re saying it’s due out of pocket !!

Everyone from the front office staff, Frankie who did my x-rays, Dr.. Bakos, and the young lady that checked me out were wonderful. Dr Bakos had Frannie take a panoramic x-ray, decided he didn't need the other x-rays so that saved me some money. The quote they gave me for dentures was the lowest one I received. I received the referral I needed to see an oral surgeon, and received an appointment in just 3 weeks or so. I am very satisfied after my first visit. Kathy Monty

Do not Go Here. I have been a repeat customer, have a standing six month appointment for cleaning. Two days before my July appointment I received a call to reschedule, they were unable to schedule me until 9/6. Called this morning to reschedule, once again the hygienist has left the company and they could not get me in before I leave on vacation. Called 3 times & texted 2 times to get a copy of my records! No one has been any help!!! Will have to get in the car and drive 1hr round trip for something that should be easily emailed! Also very rude young lady on answering the phone! Customer service is what a good business is built on. Will Never recommend this company.

I recently experienced a significant delay at your dental office that left me quite frustrated. Despite having an appointment scheduled, I was kept waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time. This prolonged wait not only disrupted my day but also caused considerable inconvenience. I understand that unexpected delays can occur, but it would be greatly appreciated if there were better communication or efforts to minimize such delays in the future.
