Customer Reviews
I hadn't been to the dentist for nearly a decade, and needed some pretty extensive work done to get back on track to great oral health. Everyone I interacted with here at Sage Dental of Dr. Phillips were extremely patient and kind, walking me through the treatment I needed, both in the immediate and long term. After taking care of the immediate issues, we worked together to make sure I had the tools and knowledge to continue ensure their wonderful work would last well into the future. From the kind hygienists, to the genuine office staff, as well as the superb dentist herself, each individual I worked with helped to guide me through it, with care and patience. I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to meet such a kind and professional staff, who helped me tremendously. I'll always be grateful for everyone here who helped me. Even though I'll be moving states, I'll remember fondly the positive experience I had for the few months of being under their care. Thank you, and take care!
I've never had the need to leave a review on a medical office of any kind. But after what I experienced in this place, I had to say something. I had an appointment there not too long ago. I arrived and paid my regular co-pay which included X-rays and check up. I waited in an empty waiting area for around 20 mins. Was called to the back and they began doing the X-rays, okay so far so good. When they were done, the lady told me that they will see me shortly. Ended up waiting for this person for another 20 mins more. Finally they show up and when I tell you that they didn't even open my mouth to do the check up, I'm not exagerating. They NEVER even touched my mouth to see anything. They quickly jumped to offering and upselling procedures that I didn't need. They told me that my teeth were "so pretty" and that they "needed to save them". I do have receding gums because of some past orthodontal work and I wanted to do some deep cleaning. When thet offered the deep cleaning, they said that WITH MY INSURANCE I had to pay $958 out of pocket. Absolutely not! Then they offered me other things that I needed and it all went up to $5,500...again--WITH INSURANCE!! I wish I could say that was the end, but it gets worse. When I declined the services, their entire attitude towards me switched. Now they were non-chalant, rude and barely said a word to me and refused to look me in the face. When they released me from the chair, the lady didn't say anything and proceeded to walk fast and leave me behind. Didn't even wait for me. Once I reached the door to exit out, the hygenist that saw me asked the other if I was getting anything done, and the lady shook her head in a disappointed manner. Once out in the front desk, the way the lady asked things to reschedule was so depressing, as if she was annoyed with me. She didn't have the same energy than when she was trying to sell me things. I will never come back here again! All they see is dollar signs.
I've only been going to this office for a good two week now so the jury is still out regarding my treatment plan with the doctor, but she's extremely pleasant and professional, so we'll see how it goes (my mouth is super sore as I type this). However, the receptionist at front desk Ms. Pierra, is already the best! Her willingness and ability to assist me with the tedious transfer of my insurance to their office made the difference between me choosing this location over the others that weren't nearly as accommodating. While in pain she got me in for a quick much needed appointment, followed up with me regarding my Group ID information and basically ground guided me in to the office; resulting in me spending a quick three stacks on long overdue dentistry and not being upset about it. So far, sore good!
The environment was noisy, I was left alone in the exam room for maybe 10 minutes and a different hygienist would come every so often. There wasn't a good flow of the appointment, it felt very sporadic. I thought I went in for a cleaning, but it was mainly a consult. The website is not clear of what you're setting an appointment The staff was nice, but I didn't really like how they pushed their dental insurance on me as a first time patient. I will not be returning.
Where do I begin with Sage Dental of Dr. Phillips? This is going to be a moment... First, I ALWAYS have a horrific or terrible experience with the Dentist. I was born with a bone issues. It affects my entire skeletal frame, teeth & nails included. So dentist visits? I start sweating as soon as I get to the front door. Finding a good dentist is always a mission in disappointment (for those who keep upwith me, my last dentist HORRIBLE)...Not today. Today was my 1st visit. I walked through the doors here, and yes, it was beautiful, clean, & smelled wonderful. That didn't impress me. I've been butchered in dentist offices, that looked like the Hilton. The staff at the front desk (Camila & Nitza) were very friendly. Camila assisted me & amazed me right away. Her knowledge & experience showed immediately. She was amazing indeed. I purposely played dumb, to see what her responses would be. This young lady & Patient Coordinator, knows her stuff. She should be at every front desk. Impeccable service - she even offered water & then coffee after I was done. Absolutely wonderful. She made me so comfortable, that staying there was encouraging...Yes, I've walked the heck out of places with poor customer service at the front desk & filed complaints if necessary. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE MATTERS (in my former Human Resources voice). Thank you Camila. But wait...it gets better. The tech Emma, was AWESOME. She was quick, efficient, and friendly. Jeff, he gave me the deep cleaning. It wasn't fun, but necessary based on my particular issues. But what I liked about Jeff? He explained everything to me beforehand, answered my questions before I even had to ask, was very knowledgeable, and good at what he does. I'm the type of person, that likes information in its entirety. Jeff, left me learning new things about my teeth & bone issues. He also has a great personality. My gums feel slightly sore, and I have a mild headache (the whining noise from the tools), lol! But my teeth feel different. They never felt so free, healthy & lite. Darn good job Jeff. Thank you soooo much. I saved the best for last...My DENTIST, DR.SHADA!!! I don't know where you found her. I don't know, can you clone her? She's who I'd call Everyone's Favorite Dentist. She was beyond knowledgeable, knew her work, very thorough in examining & explaining, broke-down my options, gave me her expertise, and actually took time to talk with me (rare). Most dentists I know, are in & out, and often don't like sticking around for questions. Dr. Shada? The complete opposite. I even have to admit, I looked at her at thought, she's too young, surely she doesn't know much. HAH!!! She's a freakin' dental guru!!! She knows her job & well. I've been to enough dentists & orthodental surgeries in various states & hospitals to know. And the best part? She has a natural sense of humor & super friendly attitude. What a wonderful human being...CLONE HER, lol!!! The working relationship she has with her staff? These are happy people. I didn't want to leave, lol! I'm actually looking forward to my upcoming treatments...Is that weird??? Lol! Listen everyone. Don't walk, RUN to Sage Dental of Dr. Phillips, ask for Dr. Shada. Tell her I sent you! You won't regret it. This is the longest review I ever wrote. Why? Because they're simply, that darn good. Thanks again & see you all very soon! Totally, Totally AWESOME!
I had a disappointing experience with Sage Dental of Dr. Phillips. I was asked to come in earlier on the day of my appointment, only to end up waiting around once I arrived. During the visit, they quoted me about $1,000 in additional services and wouldn’t proceed with a basic cleaning unless I agreed to a portion of this extra treatment plan. Later, I found that the quoted services included unnecessary items, such as numbing for gum pain, even though I specifically mentioned that my only sensitivity was related to using white strips. When I reviewed the records they eventually sent, I noticed they had included incorrect information about my dental history. This misinformation, combined with their upselling tactics, added to my overall frustration and eroded my trust in their care. I’m glad I sought a second opinion, as the new dentist confirmed that the additional services Sage Dental advised were unnecessary. After deciding to go elsewhere, it took over three weeks to get my x-rays, despite repeated calls and emails. I eventually reached the right person, who did send the x-rays less than an hour before my appointment with the new dentist, which I appreciated. However, the prolonged process and the inaccuracies in my records make me hope that Sage Dental will work on their business practices and overall experience.
