Our family has been going to Riccobene Dentistry at Cary west for nearly 10 years, but for the last two years I have seen a steep decline in keeping commitment to appointments, we work meticulously to plan dentist appointments juggling various schedules. In the last two years every appointment of ours has had to be rescheduled, some of them were cancelled on the day off - like a couple hours before the appointment, if we do that as patients we are charged a fee, however doctors and technicians have no such responsibility. It has been a very painful experience and hoping this improves.

I never had a problem with Riccobene has a patient though I do feel their office has become very unorganized. I stopped going there over a year ago when my insurance coverage changed. I made sure to pay any balance due in full after my final appointment and moved on to a different dentist. Out of no where I get an email saying I have a balance due of $50. I’ve called the billing office multiple times and have left 2 voicemails over the last 2 weeks and I get no response. I called the office to ask someone to look at my account. If it’s something I truly owe, I will pay it but I received no reason why this charge was incurred. The lady at the office said she also couldn’t tell why I had a balance and noted I had a $50 charge over a year ago that was paid. She told me she would forward my question to the billing office and noted that the billing department is under new leadership that they are “very responsive.” I am writing this review it hopes it finally gets someone’s attention so they will follow up with this and stop leaving customers in the dark about erroneous charges. Please make this right.

Came in for a cleaning not feeling well at all, my jaw was hurting. I was aggravated because if you don't cancel 24 hours in advanced you will be charged. My Hygienist Brook was Awesome patient with my cleaning giving me breaks in between making sure I was okay and not in pain! Ask for Brook if you have a sensitive mouth but still need a detailed cleaning! Left with a clean and refreshed mouth!!

Avoid this orthodontist at all costs. 1 year treatment plan turned into 2 years and they won’t bill through updated insurance unless you tell them to bill it which will turn into them emailing you a “30 day late” bill which I was never EVER made aware of. They don’t answer the phones so the dentist side has to pick up calls for them. Truly a mess. Communication is horrible and a waste of time and money. I called last year with my updated dental insurance and now they’re saying it’s not in the system… do better.

I have been coming to this office for a few years now. I have always had a good experience, except for today. I was taken to the back and had my medical history reviewed and told the hygienist would be with me shortly. I waited for over 45 mins, and then proceeded to have two different people clean my teeth. It didn’t seem like they knew what they doing. I also booked the appointment to see a specific dentist. Well apparently he took the day off, so they decided to have a different dentist see me. The dentist did the exam, but did not look in my chart. He didn’t even ask if I was having any problems, which I was. He seemed rushed and I had to stop him before he left the room to tell him I was having issues. I should have been notified that the dentist I specifically requested was out. I would’ve rescheduled.

Both of my kids have been going to Riccobene for years. My complaint is about the Orthodontic side of this location, the communication with the doctor and coordinator is way off. My son started braces with Dr. Bassham 7 months ago, they told us we need to extract 2 top teeth, I scheduled an appointment for the extraction in another location, where they told us that Dr. Bassham requested the extraction of 4 teeth, 2 of them are baby teeth and all in the top!! This information was never discussed with me by our Ortho, so the dental assistant recommended that we don’t go ahead with the procedure until we understand what went wrong. Same time my son’s lower teeth were shifting too much because he stayed off wires for more than 2 months (first time his flossing and brushing wasn’t good enough, so I understand) but why they didn’t put the wires back in our last visit?!! That I don’t understand! One of his canines was being pushed out too far and was really bothering him, I called to schedule an emergency appointment, which was inconveniently canceled by the practice that same morning. I called again to schedule another one, the kind assistant was trying to do her best, but Dr. Bassham looked at my son’s old X-Ray and decided there is no shift and he doesn’t need an appointment. The assistant said to feel free to go to another practice to get this fixed instead. I decided to change the whole place and move my son to another ortho. They’re still giving me a hard time with the transfer forms and Mandi the Ortho coordinator is not answering my emails or my calls. The new Ortho haven’t received our release of forms that I signed weeks ago yet, and my son now has brackets and shifting teeth and has no Ortho to fix it!! This experience is stressing us out and I absolutely don’t recommend Dr. Bassham for your Ortho needs.
