Went to Dr. Rensch in March of last year to see about getting a loose Bridge replaced. He is a "In-Network provider" with my insurance. He got a pre-estimate approval and his rude office lady (Mindy) told me my share would be 3750.00 got the Bridge work done on August 8th and he added a code to the claim that made it error out. (He and his office girl Mindy have been doing this for 20 to 30 years so I bet this wasn't his first error with same code) They wouldn't help me clear their mistake because--he got to charge me out of network price --4000.00 more! Mindy doesn't let you talk to anyone but her, wouldn’t help me clear the error and when I did clear it with my insurance she was excited to tell me that it didn’t mean anything because I would still need to pay the extra 4000.00 even with the error they caused. Why? she said "because we can" very unprofessional. She said "this happens all the time"! I bet it does Im reporting it anywhere and everywhere while I pay the extra 4000
Dr Rensch and his team are amazing. I’ve been a patient with his office for 23 years. They are always friendly and professional. Dr Rensch is truthful and very skilled. I would highly recommend this practice!
I would like to preface this by saying I'm not someone who volunteers this sort of information readily, nor am I someone who goes out of their way to leave bad reviews, but my experience was...horrific. I would also like to mention my interactions with Dr. Rensch after the procedure in question were minimal, and most of the trouble caused can probably be chalked up to poor handling of the situation on behalf of the receptionist I dealt with mostly over the phone. At my initial visits, I was very happy with the service and cleanliness of the office, even if the doctor was a little touchier than my comfort level prefers. However, the fillings given to me were not smoothed properly, resulting in burrs that irritated my gums, causing a debilitating amount of pain, loss of sleep, inability to chew, and an eventual case of sepsis. I called to see what could be done about the dental pain (before I knew exactly what was going on), and the receptionist was incredibly rude to me, saying my tooth is probably dying and there isn't anything they can do. It wasn't until my brother called on my behalf was I finally able get a referral to an oral surgeon and endodontist, and a separate call entirely (before or after the referrals, I don't quite remember), to secure a low dose of clindamycin. I do not know if the doctor himself didn't want to check up on me with an exam, or if the decision to not have me come in to check my fillings was purely an issue with reception. Ultimately, the decision on what to do to fix my tooth - root canal and crown, or an extraction and implant - was left in my very inexperienced hands. After many self-sought appointments, referrals, professional opinions, and confusion from doctors as to what exactly was going on in my mouth to warrant an extraction or a root canal on an otherwise healthy tooth, the haphazard restorations have been cleaned and smoothed without the need for invasive, costly procedures. It has been about four months since this whole debacle began, and I am finally pain-free and no longer at risk of developing infection in that area. I would like to end this on a bright note, stating that the Creighton School of Dentistry did a phenomenal job of providing careful and thorough assessments, helpful answers, and fantastic service to me in my time of need, as did the urgent clinic who treated me for sepsis when the gum infection made it's way into my blood, after the initial antibiotics didn't entirely clear the infection. I am incredibly grateful for the doctors, desk workers, and other professionals who made me feel listened to and cared for during this nightmarish sequence of events, but I'm sorry that none of that care came from the office of Dr. Rensch. I hope this review can prevent further issues like my own, and I hope the level of care provided by Dr. Rensch and his team has improved since my last dealings with them.
Dr Rensch is a great dentist and very nice and friendly. We have had such a horrible experience with his billing person Mindy. She says she is going to follow up on things and never does. I have entire conversations with her that she doesn't remember having and she told me "she can't keep track of all that." She says she will do something and nothing ever gets followed up on. She is horrible and rude and very condescending! She never calls me back about anything. She doesn't know anything about her job. I wanted to work through the plan for treatment so I could make an educated guess of the amount to put on my flex plan and she acts like she doesn't have the time of day. I tried to do this two years in a row and she refused to help. I have left at least two messages for Dr Rensch to call me and he didn't respond. I asked to speak to the office manager and they said that was Dr Rensch's wife but she doesn't deal with stuff like this. What is a customer supposed to do? I have always been treated very well by the rest of the staff but Mindy is horrible! I'm not sure why she is able to keep her job because she is completely useless. Mindy told me that billing my insurance is a "courtesy", that she is not responsible for it really. I guess my only choice at this point, is to find another dentist.
I have always had positive, stress-free, and hassle- free visits to Dr. Rensch's dental office. I recently moved to Kansas and had to visit a new dental office in which I had a very negative first experience. It made me realize what wonder service I had taken for granted when going to Dr. Rensch.
