I couldn’t recommend this Doctor more for an efficient and excellent procedure. I had to get an extraction done that I was really dreading, and he made me feel at ease and like I could trust him. He does excellent work and I highly recommend him. That said, the front desk is almost bad enough to make me never want go here again. From scheduling, to putting you on hold for five minutes every time you call them, to issues with insurance billing. I really hope this office hires some better people soon.

The dental team was highly professional and ensured that I felt comfortable throughout the entire process. They explained each step clearly and provided excellent care both during and after the procedure. The surgery was quick and efficient, and they gave me thorough instructions for recovery, which made the healing process smooth and manageable.

I recently had my wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Kotikian and I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. From the moment I walked into the office, the staff was warm and welcoming, making me feel at ease. Dr. Kotikian explained the procedure thoroughly, which helped alleviate any anxiety I had. The actual extraction was quick, painless, and surprisingly easy. Dr. Kotikian's expertise and gentle approach made all the difference. I was in and out in no time, and the recovery has been smooth with no discomfort. I highly recommend Dr. Kotikian for anyone needing dental work. This was by far the best experience I've had with a dental procedure. Thank you, Dr. Kotikian for your excellent care!

This is a review as to their scheduling and front desk personnel. I have yet to be seen by this office. I scheduled an appointment in May 2024 for a consultation and was told I couldn't been seen until September 2024. In the months between, unbeknownst to me, my insurance authorization lapsed. The office called the DAY before my appt and alerted me of this lapse. They told me to call my insurance for reauthorization, which I did. I called the office back to inform them my authorization would be handled by my appt time the following day and they informed me my appointment was already CANCELLED and the next available appt was in MARCH 2025. The girl at the front desk, I believe her name is Marine, has zero compassion for patients. Her tone of voice was completely disaffected, as if a patients wait times for necessary surgery was annoying to her. She repeatedly told me in an heartless tone that if I "had a problem with the office policies" I could "go find another doctor." I have an HMO policy, so that's not exactly an option! When I asked where I was now on the waitlist, she told me "THE BOTTOM" and when I asked how long the waitlist was she said sneeringly, "veryyyy long." She also threatened to not schedule me for another appointment. I asked her if she was authorized to deny a patient care and she said "no, but I don't like your tone." In the end, after I asked enough questions that made clear this conversation felt illicit, she scheduled me. It's absolutely shameful to treat patients this way. People dealing with medical issues/trauma and having to navigate insurance companies many hurdles should be able to receive a modicum of compassion from these front desks employees. She refused to give me her full name and told me there was no supervisor I could contact. I hope this review reaches someone at this office.

The negative reviews here regarding the handling of insurance is spot on. I don't know if it's fraud or just negligence. My wife had scheduled a routine wisdom teeth extraction with this place August 2023. I had had my wisdom teeth extracted by a different office just two years prior, and it was smooth sailing, no problems, $300 out of pocket. (This surgeon retired, so we had to find a different place.) My wife not only was covered by my same exact insurance through my employer, but she was also covered by her own individual plan. This surgery was more than covered, so I did not have my guard up when dealing with Pacific Coast Oral. I wish I had. First, we got an estimate from Delta Dental. This had to be redone multiple times because the wrong line items were submitted. (The first time, there weren't any extractions included in the line items at all, so nothing was considered covered.) This took weeks of back-and-forth with Delta and Pacific Oral while scary estimates with astronomical numbers showed up in our mailbox. Then, the day of the surgery, we arrived at the office, and they wanted us to pay upfront. I had never experienced this before. They presented us with a total of $1,546 - a far cry from the $300 I had paid for the same exact procedure with the same exact insurance. This was because the estimate was not submitted correctly - I think for the third time. They said we could pay now and be reimbursed later, after they submit the claim to Delta. My wife has the procedure done. They call a month or so later, saying they would reimburse us for $559.60. This seemed incredibly low, so we said we needed to speak to Delta Dental first. Three different Delta representatives confirmed that there was a payout to Pacific Oral and that we should only owe $742.40. (A reimbursement of $803.60.) They also informed us that there was an additional line item that would be covered if the claim was resubmitted. We had the office resubmit the claim. They grumbled about it and warned that it would be a while because we were getting into the holidays by now. We said that was fine. In January 2024, Delta informed us that an additional line item was covered for $76.40. Meaning our reimbursement would be $880. We called the office and asked about our reimbursement, and they said they would call us back. There was no call back. We call again, and they say that the billing department specifically needed to call us back. There was no call back. Over the course of the next few months, we would call multiple times and get different stories. That the billing department was on vacation. That there was no billing department, that it was handled by a vendor. Finally, we went in person. The young person at the front desk did not know what to do and had no information. Though they were frantically typing to someone on the computer. We asked who the billing vendor was, and they would not say. They said that we would not get an answer from the billing department quickly and suggested we leave and that they would call later. No surprise - there was never a call back. We waited a month. I disputed the charge on my credit card, and then I sent an official demand letter for payment, threatening to go to small claims court. A few days after they received the letter, my wife finally got a call back, saying they were sending a check. We just got the check today. It's for $559.60. This is paired with a very messy, itemized spreadsheet of their bad bookkeeping. So, they stole $320.40 from us. Better than nothing, I suppose. I give up.
