Oral & Maxillofacial Associates Reviews
I was referred to this office from my dentist. When booking the initial consult, I asked if the practice and provider were in-network with my insurance. I was told “yes, we accept (insurance name).”Upon arrival at the consult, I asked the receptionist AGAIN to confirm that the provider and clinic were in-network. She looked at me funny and excused herself to ask a colleague. That woman looked at me weird and whispered something inaudible to the receptionist. The receptionist came back and said that Shannon, the implant treatment coordinator, would go over what my insurance would cover at the end of the appointment. At the end of the appointment, Shannon shared that my insurance would cover just over $200 of the entire procedure. The procedure total would be close to $3,000. I was puzzled. She said that was how it was, even after I kept asking how and for her to explain. Never did she mention the true reason was that they were not in-network. She pushed me to schedule the surgery. I left confused, having had the same procedure at another (very reputable) practice several years ago that was covered much more with insurance.I finally reached out to my insurance to ask why they wouldn’t cover. Thank goodness I did! Within two minutes, the rep informed me that neither the practice nor any provider there was in-network for my insurance, and that was the reason for the astronomical costs. I immediately called to cancel my surgery with OMA and informed the woman that they had misled me about insurance coverage. It was like she received this call a lot - seemed like nothing out of the ordinary for her.NEVER ONCE DID ANYONE IN THE PRACTICE DISCLOSE THAT THEY ARE OUT-OF-NETWORK. EVEN AFTER I ASKED MULTIPLE PEOPLE ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS.A couple weeks later I received a $500 bill for the consult. I called to explain I never would have stepped foot in their practice had I known they were not in-network. i explained I had asked multiple staff members about in-network status and, looking back, each avoided a truthful answer. I was shuffled to a couple people and then to a voicemail for the office manager. No one ever called me back.Today, I received a text demanding payment and threatening to turn over to collections within 10 days.I wouldn’t have this bill if their staff would have been truthful and ethical.I went to an in-network provider - same one I had before - and the total out of pocket cost was around $600 because they are in-network with my insurance.
Dec 04, 2024 · Shaundra NorthAwesome people, amazing work, they care about the patients! Everyone was so nice, professional and accommodating! Best experience possible for a tooth extraction and they worked with my insurance so that I only had to pay a minimal out of pocket cost! Dr. Martin was a total badass!
Nov 23, 2024 · Beau McMillinI had a great experience with the team at OMA! They took all 4 of my wisdom teeth out in an efficient manner. They even gave me a follow up call to see how I was feeling, and also a get well card. 10/10 recommend!
Nov 19, 2024 · Dylan WaltersWe cannot say enough wonderful things about OMA and Dr. Martin and his incredible team. Our 12-year-old son broke his jaw in a ski accident, and they went above and beyond from the moment we walked in. They were able to see us immediately and took such great care in wiring his jaw and ensuring everything was done properly. From the start, they made our son feel completely safe, calm, and cared for. Every question he had was answered with kindness and patience, and the entire team helped put him at ease. In fact, he left their office in a great mood and all smiles—which is saying a lot after what he had just gone through!Dr. Martin and his team continue to check in on him between our weekly visits, showing a level of care and dedication that is truly rare. Moving forward, they will be the only people we trust or recommend for anything in their field. They are truly the best, and we are so thankful for everything they’ve done for our son and our family.
Apr 07, 2025 · Brooke BensonMy experience was extremely positive. Dr. Martin is kind, pleasant, skilled, and knowledgeable. I felt very reassured that all would go well, and it certainly did!The nursing staff, office staff & Shannon were all considerate, professional, & efficient.
Apr 07, 2025 · Pauline LisleWe had an exceptional experience. The nurses and staff were great. The wisdom teeth removal was quick. Minimal pain. My son didn't even need to take pain meds after. They called the next day to check up on my son. Very professional.Dr. McIntire was friendly and gave my son reassurance that things would be fine. This was my son's first big medical procedure. He is extremely nervous with needles. He didn't have any problems. Dr. Made him feel relaxed.
