I am NOT one to write reviews. But I just want to come on here and say I have been a patient at the aesthetic dept, periodontics and orthodontics and orthodontics has the worst front desk workers. They treat you like they get paid to be rude. You walk in there knowing you’re gonna deal with someone’s attitude no matter which front desk worker you talk to. Aesthetics and periodontics 10/10 customer service. Please give them raises ! Note— they also claim they never answer the phone because they are so busy which I do believe. But I was a patient there for three years and they never answered the phone ONCE?. They also never return your calls.

The staff is welcoming and super friendly. Check in was a breeze. The elevators suck! It's always a long wait. I came up with a strategy to get into the elevator, take the ride and when it eventually lands on your floor, get off. The class of people that go here are a bit weird. You had one guy speaking aloud and asking anyone for a cigarette. Another woman literally shoved me aside to get into the elevator. She is very very lucky I had my son with me. The department that caters to children with special needs is really behind. If your child requires anesthesia, it is a nine month wait. There is no emergency that they will take even though they say they will see you right away. It won't happen. I'm gonna forget this place and the three hours I wasted with my child, find another dentist and pay out of pocket. I would avoid this place at all cost .

They have a Veteran program at NYU which requires a referral. My referral was submitted in April I waited a month to contact them because I was originally told there were delays as it’s a process. Started calling first week of June. No response. I had to reach out to patient advocate and they gave me the correct veteran line number because apparently my referral wasn’t received. I reached out the VA they have the exact date and provided me a copy of my referral that was sent in April. I have tried to reach the veteran office for a month now in NYU and Gabriela Gonzalez direct line a total of 22 times, each time leaving my phone number, name and brief description. I have yet to get a call back. Patient advocate advised me to call her or to wait for her to call me but nothing is happening. I’m not sure what else to do at this point to schedule an appointment. It’s almost august. Waiting 4 months for an appointment is absurd. I’ve done everything on my end to get the process started but NYU veteran program seems to not be concerned. If anyone can provide assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Go with caution. Departments do not communicate with each other. Everything takes forever which makes more problems develop. Students end semesters mid work so you keep starting over. Even department heads don't communicate well. You are not treated well as a patient here. They only like easy patients. If you do come here, you need to be crazy on top of everything and self advocate very very very strongly. I would not recommend this place at all. Except maybe for cleanings and fillings, but that you can get at any old dentist ??‍♂️. My teeth only got worse over the 4 years that I sought care here.

The knowledge and care of the faculty and students was truly outstanding. I highly recommend using NYU College of Dentistry I will inform you it is a slow process because we are working in teaching setting. You must have patience. My outcome was a great one

Overall to-date, I have had Very Good experiences at the NYU College of Dentistry. The majority of Staff members are very polite and helpful. The different teams of Students and Supervising Dental Specialists/Professors have worked together to provide me with the Best Possible Dental Care, that I otherwise would have been unable to afford. Keep Up The Great Work! Words are truly insufficient in conveying the Sincere Thanks and Gratitude I have for them and their services.
