Customer Reviews
Quin, the hygienist was amazing! She was very informative, and personable. And the assistant (I regret that I can't think of her name)- was super sweet. Both very knowledgeable and accomodating. I always have a good experience at Manus dental, from the time I enter the door until I'm checked out. The staff are professional and kind. I really like Manus and plan to stay for the long haul.
I have been a patient since 2021. Haven’t had not one bad experience. The staff go above and beyond. Everyone is extremely friendly. The office is always clean and welcoming. Iesha and Ms. Foster made sure that all my needs and worries were addressed. Overall I will be returning with any future assistance and will be referring all my family and friends.
I usually don’t leave reviews but I had great experience at Manus Dental. Wonderful staff and location. Dr. Obaisi was amazing and did great job explaining my treatment. So happy I came here.
In my opinion they mistreat patients. I went for a basic 6 month cleaning, I go every 6 months for a cleaning. Before opening my mouth, the hygienist started lecturing me that I do not floss enough. Who does floss enough and I was wondering how that she could determine that with out even looking into my mouth. She then proceeded to use a sharp instrument to aggressively and painfully puncture my gums to the point of aggressively making me bleed and then had to rinse the blood out of my mouth. I do not bleed when I brush my teeth or floss, only when hygienists are aggressive. She then told me that she would not do a basic cleaning and my only choice was to agree to a $1100 cleaning procedure. The rationale was my xrays taken 6 months ago showed my teeth had bacteria. My question was why wasn’t this mentioned at my check up 6 months ago and they said they have temps working for them that only wanted a paycheck. I can only assume that the doctor did not review my xrays and I wonder why that did not happen 6 months ago. Why would a temp be reviewing xrays, why wouldn’t the doctor look at my xrays? Regardless, I am a new mom and have a few concerns, they did not explain the procedure only the pricing. They continued to leave me in the chair and coming back. For 40 minutes I was sitting in the chair with out any actual examination, just that aggressive and rushed 2 minute event. I had to keep asking what would be done over and over and they finally mentioned that they would need to numb my gums. Considering I am a new mom and breast feeding, which they did not even ask about, I do not want drugs in my system as I do not want anything in my breast milk. Possibly this opinion is unnecessarily strict but this is also my choice to protect my baby in this way. I also have a suppressed immune system and post partum lingering issues and the additional pain of an invasive cleaning was not something that I could tolerate considering other post partum pain I am dealing with on a daily basis. I agreed to a basic cleaning at the appointment and to consider coming back for the invasive painful cleaning. They refused to provide the basic cleaning and I left. I was in such a state of despair, I needed my teeth cleaned and they wasted so much of my time away from my baby with no service. They wanted to do an upgraded service, I said no. They would not perform the basic cleaning that I needed. They did not respect my decision to not be forced into a procedure I did not want and was not mentally ready for. They told me that I could not get a basic cleaning and they were doing me a favor because now they would charge me $800 for a basic cleaning. It is my opinion that all of the excuses were unprofessional and were meant to intimidate and manipulate. When I spoke with my husband who has only had one cavity in his life, he told me that at his appointment, earlier in the morning, they claimed the same issue and convinced him to do the $1100 cleaning procedure. This is too coincidental and calls to question their behavior… Why was the presentation so aggressive? Why did I feel like I was at a car dealership how they leave you alone for an extended period of time and then come pack with pricing, also this in reference to a so called exam 6 months ago? Why couldn’t I have a basic cleaning? Why wasn’t this mentioned before? Why wasn’t my basic medical history taken in to consideration? Why was this diagnosis all of a sudden and was so emergent? Why couldn’t I leave and come back for this so called additional treatment? In reading other reviews, my experience and my husband's experience this appears to be a common practice at this clinic.
I was very disappointed with Manus Dental. When making my first appointment, I said I wanted a "basic" cleaning. They said, appropriately, that I needed to be assessed first. I agreed to a preliminary visit, got x-rays taken, and my gums measured. To follow up with my original intention, I requested a basic cleaning. They presented me with a two-step cleaning treatment, 6 weeks apart, that cost over $2,500.00. I said I couldn't afford that and asked for something more basic, that I could afford. They refused to adjust or offer me something affordable, so I had to decline further services. I've been to other dental offices and have never been declined basic dental cleaning. I felt like I wasted my time in my first visit, because they refused to provide the service I need.
From the moment I walked into Manus dental I was treated with respect, kindness and smiles by the receptionist. A dental technician called me in asked me some questions. She made sure I was comfortable. I don’t know what her name was but she was excellent. Also, the dentist was unbelievable. I had to have a tooth pulled and worked myself up about it she was gentle friendly and explicit, I didn’t feel a thing! It is exactly 24 hours after my extraction and I am in no pain at all. I have taken no Tylenol or ibuprofen. If you go to Manus dental you would not be disappointed. The customer service is unbelievable by everyone. I definitely would recommend Manus dental To anybody who’s looking for a dentist
