I am giving this place one star because the staff is nice. When I first started going to this dental office, I never had any issues. However, within the last few years the service has declined. The first red flag was when I was getting a cavity filled and the dentist did not have any hygienists or assistants helping him. The dentist left the room multiple times as I was sitting in the chair with the dental block and other dental equipment in my mouth. I should have found a new dental clinic after this but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Most recently, I had an appointment for a cavity filling scheduled at 10 AM. I waited in the lobby 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment when I finally decided to ask the front desk person how much longer it would be. The front desk person went to check and told me that the dentist was at the bank and wouldn't be any longer than 30 minutes. The bank? Really? The staff could probably tell I was annoyed and took me back to the dental chair to sit and wait. I waited another 35 minutes and the dentist still was not there. I waited over one hour and 20 minutes past my SCHEDULED dentist appointment that had been scheduled for over a month. I finally left and rescheduled. I got a voicemail the day before my rescheduled appointment saying the dentist was going to be late and they needed to reschedule my appointment again. I tried to call back 4 times on 2 different days DURING BUSINESS HOURS and no one answered the phone. Safe to say I will never be going back here.
One star because the staff are very nice, but this is literally the worst experience I had at a dentist. I had 2 appointments here. The first appointment, I arrived 30 minutes early to complete paperwork (they tell you to come 15 minutes early). I was checked in, but wasn't given any paperwork until 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. My appointment started 30 minutes late, but then I had to wait another 30 minutes for the doctor. So at total I am there now for over 1.5 hours. It is sort of ridiculous because my appointment consisted of x-rays, having my gums measured, and being told I would need to come back for a deep cleaning. I've had to get those since I was about 6 years old and the initial check has never taken more than 15-20 minutes. The doctor also recommended having my remaining 2 wisdom teeth removed and a filling. I couldn't schedule the deep cleaning until the insurance approved it (which takes about 2 weeks) but I scheduled my extraction for 2 weeks into the future (which got pushed to 3 weeks due to the doctor needing to reschedule). It was a rough first appointment, but I gave then the benefit of the doubt because some days you get slammed or you have a new receptionist. But after yesterday.... oh boy. I went back for my wisdom teeth extraction. My appointment was at 3pm, I sat in the lobby until 4pm, and by 5pm the procedure had not yet started. After waiting for 2 hours, I decided to leave with a referral instead. The doctor had been ready to start, but it was too late. I also work at a clinic and if you are going to ask your clients to respect your valuable time, you should respect their valuable time too. I wasted my partners PTO twice for the appointment (the day they had to reschedule and now this appointment). Again, the doctor was very kind but I really think they need to look at reducing their schedule if patients are waiting 2 hours for their appointment to start. The last straw for me occurred when I went to the front desk and asked to schedule my deep cleaning. They said "well we submitted it to insurance 3 days ago and it takes 14 days to return." YEAH. I know. You told me that 3 weeks ago. So why was the paperwork submitted just now?? It all seems so unorganized and chaotic. I sat there for 2 hours feeling any trust I built with the doctor just drain away. How can I trust them to extract teeth if they can't even build a schedule or file paperwork? I won't be going back but I honestly feel that is a kindness to the clinic because they seem to have more business than they know what to do with.
I recently visited Lakeshore Dental and had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. C. From start to finish, my experience was exceptional. The clinic itself is clean, and welcoming. The staff were friendly, making sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout my visit. Dr. C’s expertise and gentle approach truly set her apart. She took the time to thoroughly explain my treatment options and answered all my questions with patience and clarity. During the examination, Dr. C’s knowledge was evident, and I felt at ease knowing I was in such capable hands. She has a wonderful bedside manner. I highly recommend Lakeshore Dental and Dr. C to anyone in need of dental care. Their commitment to patient care and excellence is unmatched. I will definitely be returning for all my future dental needs! ???
