La Canada Smiles Dentistry

Awesome dental office! Dr. Emily Arambula is so good, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. Very happy with the work I had done. The dental assistants were so great too. I had a lovely experience when I was pretty nervous about my appointment. Glad I found them.

I visited La Canada smiles office last week in need of a replacement partial. I came in the office with the partial and requested to have another made. The dentist I met stated the piece I had was a temporary and recommended a more permanent replacement and one that was aesthetically more pleasing. I explained I didn’t need one aesthetically pleasing since it was one of my molars and not visible plus I was planning on getting implants because the tooth next to the missing one was almost on its way out and would need to be extracted at that time I would move forward with implants. She proceeded with the imprint no discussion of cost took place. After the imprint I proceeded to the front desk. At that time I was told of the cost $1550 I was surprised of the cost but went ahead and paid for it in full. At least I thought I had paid the full amount. Not until I needed to reschedule my appointment for the 29th I logged into my patient chart where I saw a balance due of $1600 and change due. I was in shock to see I had a balance due. Since at the time I was checking out I made a comment about the high cost of 1 tooth. I even asked the receptionist what the cost of implants were since I was considering them for future. Why did she not at that point tell me the true cost of the replacement??! I was not informed of the cost at any time of my appointment. If I hadn’t needed to reschedule my appointment I would have never known. I am so upset with the way this office/staff handled my case. I was clearly lied to by omitting the cost involved with such service. I feel I was taken advantage of being a cash paying patient. This office including the dentist need to take classes on ethics and moral behavior. Patients need to be informed to be able to make informed decisions this experience has caused me extreme distress and anxiety. I plan on speaking with the director of this office so this does not occur with any other client. This behavior is unacceptable, crooked, outright thievery.

I'm leaving a review for my favorite dental hygienist, Liz. I really appreciate that she's really mindful of making me feel heard and comfortable. She's always checking in and asking me if I'm okay during our appointments and accommodates my requests. She's the best!!! Thank you for putting up with me, Liz!! Lol.

I can only say good things about Smiles Dentistry. Dr. Sin, the periodontist and her assistant Adriana are amazing. I was impressed with the their expertise and care.

Dr Narek Akopyan is amazing. We had a client who needed a massive filling that needed to be taken out and replace with an onlay. He was very nervous about the whole thing and Dr Narek was extremely professional and very steady. First thing our client noticed was that he did not feel the numbing shots what so ever. He always ask for extra since he needs more and Dr. had no problem with that. Secondly, during the procedure which lasted about 2 hours, our client felt no pain and Dr. had to drill a crater folks. Dr. is an extremely talented dentist 10 out of 10 would recommend.

My husband came to this dentist office a couple months ago for a semi-emergency issue and they took amazing care of him, so when I was looking for a dentist myself I knew I was going to come here. The entire staff were friendly, made it a fun experience, explained everything to me throughout each step of the visit, and were gentle and caring. I will definitely refer everyone to this office and am even looking forward to going back in a few days for a root canal because I know they're going to take great care of me. Thank you !!
