I've now been going to Gentle Dental for a couple of years and they've been great. I've been seeing Dr. Jung for the last year or so and he's everything you want in a dentist: communicative, thorough, kind and really does a wonderful job. Their more recent dental assistants have all been really stellar and kind. Their front desk staff are also friendly and very communicative about your insurance and billing. If you are looking for a dentist in Ballard, give them a call!
I have had a good experience with Gentle Dental and their providers for my son and I, the front desk staff was incredibly welcoming and the staff I met during our services were all lovely and helpful. Unfortunately my experience with their billing has been different. I have been getting huge bills for nine months without explanation of what they are for or why they weren't paid for by my insurance. I called three times and have spoken at length over the phone with someone in billing without any clarification. They sounded confused themselves and not interested in helping me understand the actual charges. Twice they promised to look into it and get back to me but did not. All the while I am still getting bills in the mail without any details. My insurance clarified for me that the claims were not processed on their end within the timely billing window so were all denied. I have hope that they can resolve this issue and hopefully won't continue to charge me for the claims that were denied for their error but I feel disappointed and frustrated by their customer service on the billing end. They can do a much better job of being clear in their invoices, not acting bothered by a patient who is confused over the phone about their balance and to understand or show some empathy that it is stressful to repeatedly be getting unclear invoices that you're not supposed to. Frustrating and time consuming!
My son and I have gone to Gentle Dental Ballard for a few years now. Without exception, the receptionists, hygienists and dentists have been friendly and responsive. When they say "gentle," they mean it. They are very intentional about ensuring you have no discomfort while in the chair. Last night I was caught off guard when an old crown cracked; Gentle Dental staff went out of their way to ensure I was able to receive care this morning. They make their crowns on site, so I am able to go into the weekend as good as new. I greatly appreciate the quality of services provided.
Everyone at Gentle Dental Ballard is amazing! From the front desk all the way across the board everybody takes great care of me! I have massive Dental phobia, or I did, because actually Gentle Dental is greatly reducing that visit by visit. You used to have to knock me out with a tack Hammer to get me to the dentist and yesterday I did a fairly big procedure with only nitrous . They are amazing and they are the reason that I'm able to move through my childhood trauma with Dentistry and take good care of my teeth. They don't overwhelm me or make me feel guilty. They just take good care of me and want me to be relaxed and have a good experience which has been the case every single time I've gone. Highly recommend!!!
The insurance they had on file was outdated, so I was billed for things I shouldn’t have been billed for. I called and updated my insurance and asked them to open the claim with my updated insurance. Had to call back 3 times and ask for this and they STILL haven’t refiled the claim. I called my insurance and asked if they cover the outstanding charges (basic things like x-rays), to which they said they 100% cover those things and have not heard from the dental office at all regarding the new claim. I am cancelling my future appointments. It should not take 4+ calls to a dentist office to reopen a claim with insurance. If you look in previous reviews I am not the only person who’s experienced their suspicious billing practices. Do not go here.
This was my first time seeing gentle dental. Very nice front desk staff. She did not request pay copay first. However Bright now dental Seattle every visit asked copay first otherwise didn’t let me go inside. They cheated me 6 years. I paid them extra money 6 years. Also dentist said I should get another crown on my right up tooth and don’t care my right jaw hurts. In Gentle Dental Ballard, staff are nice and friendly. They explained to me very well. Dentist Jung is very friendly. Dentist Jung checked and said right now not needed crown. I told them I had right jaw hurts. They checked me thoroughly and suggested mouth guard. They explained very clearly and told me about copayment. I am happy they told me about paying. I am a health care worker. I recommend Gentle Dental Ballard.
I received a cleaning from hygienist Kira. He was very gentle, caring & light handed. He did great job & was very thorough. I will recommend him to everyone.
