After getting the sales pitch to switch out to veneers I had the procedure done. At first I was thrilled! Then after about 3 years they started dropping like flies! I’ve lost half of my natural teeth cause they fell out. When they fell out and I examined them I could tell it was very shoddy work. For example the veneer overlay was not centered whatsoever onto the tooth but at the far side like a basketball at the bottom of a hula hoop. I went in there several times hoping to get everything fixed but it just led to more shortcuts. Another time I got shot up with numbing stuff and he left the room for over 30 minutes so that while we were in the middle of the work the juice wore off and I was bowing my back up off the dentist chair. He said, “I had a low tolerance to pain”” haha x D1 football starter had several knee ops and played anyway. He tries to pitch veneers I think to everyone then the patients are thrilled like I was at first. I read a bunch of reviews and the only positive ones were people who just had it done wait for 3-4 years while all the shoddy work which creates tiny spaces for plaque to get in and you simply can’t reach it. Water pick works the best but I’d double the money I gave him $20,000+ + he turned around and charged me for new implants to put in the spot where the teeth fell out. That cost me another $3500 per tooth x approx 6-8 teeth so far!! DONT DO IT! I’m ? with everything Ive stated. I’m considering legal action although he “insinuated” that I have dry mouth and I was high risk anyway. That decision was one of the worse decisions of my life now I gotta pay a different DDS $30,000+ to fix only the top part! Huge Nightmare!!!!!

Please know this review was bout the previous owner and dentist. Apparently it is under new ownership and they are not who I was reviewing at the time I wrote this. For those of you who had any work done by the previous dentist, Dr. Rick Austin; it sucks, he has now retired and they will not cover any work that was performed before his retiring. I had my procedure done in March of 2023, during the healing period with my temporary fixtures, I had more than 6 incidents where the temporary teeth fell out of the plate, When I went in to get it fixed it was done poorly each time and the tooth that was fixed would fall out again along with a new one. By the time my permanents came in my teeth looked almost as bad as they did from the accident that brought me here. Let me say this, their lab is in St. George of all places? When I went in for the imprints for the finals I expressed my concern about the quality of the implants and referred to the temporaries and the lack of quality there. Dr. Austin was rude; his comment back to me was " I know you lost some temporary teeth and blah blah blah" ( yes he actually said this) But I guarantee my work and that is all you need. When I was fitted for the permanents they had them attached to wax abutments. I had them in my mouth for about 15 minutes and the teeth started to fall off. WTH. i have several friends who have had this procedure and they received a temporary permanent structure to test the fit. I never got this. I finally got a date to get my permanents. Then a call came in and I was told the date had been set back because the lab decided they were going to do a remodel and could not get my teeth done. Needless to say I was not happy and I told them I would be to their office on the date scheduled and the teeth better there. I showed up for scheduled appointment and I ended up waiting for the teeth 3 hours. I refused to leave until the implants were in. I have a mouth full of abutment (bridge) with tiny little teeth that do not allow me to properly chew or close my mouth. How's that for 50K As prescribed I showed up for a 6 month cleaning. I expressed many concerns about the fit and structure of the teeth. They told me they would call and schedule me a day and time to come in when the lab was on premises so that these issues could be addressed. That was in March and it is almost August and I have not been contacted. Aside from the face plant that brought me here for mouth reconstruction; this has been the most horrible experience of my life. A staff that never returns calls, or processes a claim with your insurance a doctor that responds to your concerns with "blah blah blah" and a dental lab that makes shoddy implants that cost you $50,000.00 I advise you to look elsewhere for your dental implant needs. You get one star because that is the minimum I have to leave to post this review.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Gateway Dental Arts for 12 veneers a very pricey procedure, and I am absolutely thrilled with the exceptional care and service I received. I am very happy with my experience with Dr. Austin and his staff. I went in to get a few teeth looked at that were bothering me. Turns out I had issues from previous work done elsewhere that were causing pain and new issues from worn out enamel on my upper teeth. We decided to fix everything at once and even improve my smile with veneers across the top. Wow, they look and feel great now! I read some reviews here that said he "upsells", but in my case I don't feel there was any dishonesty with his work. There was no pressure and he laid out the options clearly to let me decide. Instead of bare minimum 'fixes", I chose the more expensive option and like most things, you get what you pay for. As for his staff, they were always very helpful and nice. They did a great job making me feel comfortable during my multiple visits and they were very patient with me even when I had an issue with my insurance. If I could give 10 stars I would!

We went to Dr. Austin for a complete mouth of implants for a family member -- All-on-4. We had some hiccups along the way, as the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-2021 caused issues with the lab that creates the teeth (lay-offs). The extraction was done by Dr. Austin's son, he is a good, caring doctor. The fit of the teeth was a bit problematic at the start and one tooth popped out eventually (felt too tight). Then a front tooth came out! We had to return to Dr. Austin. His office arranged for new lab technicians to be there to fix up the teeth. They did a good job and the fit is better. Dr. Austin explained the teeth are like a high-end sports car and regular maintenance is required. The family member is very happy with the result now. We will be returning for that regular maintenance. We are happy that Dr. Austin and his office is dedicated to a good result for his patient. Now the family member says they sometimes forget that they have implants - that's the highest praise.
