Gannett Drive Dental

I have been a patient of Gannett Drive Dental for about 5 years. I have had routine cleanings, and a lot of dental work done. Everyone makes you feel welcomed and I am very satisfied with all of the procedures I have had done (fillings, crown and an implant). Both Dr Jake and Dr Kivus will make you feel at ease during the dental procedures. They explain to you what they are doing which I like. When I have had questions about my bills Kathy is quick to provide me with an explanation. My husband was not a fan of the dentist so hadn’t gone in years, I convinced him to give Gannett Drive and chance and he hasn’t missed an appointment since! I was a patient of Dr. Kivus's a long time ago. I feel that I have to share my experience, as I have a tooth that cannot be saved as a result of his poor dental work. I initially went in for a routine filling. I was told it was small and that it would be a quick, easy and painless procedure. Having already had a filling in the past at another practice, I was familiar with the process. I had the filling done with Dr. K and once the Novocain wore off, I was in a great deal of pain. The pain persisted over several days. I called the office to inform them and they told me to return to the office, where Dr. K told me that he accidentally drilled too much and hit a nerve in my tooth and that the tooth needed a root canal. He scheduled me for a root canal in his office. I trusted that this was the usual process, however, I have since found out that a root canal should be performed by an endodontist, not a general dentist. Dr. K did my root canal. After the procedure, I continued to experience pain in that tooth. He told me that was impossible and that it was all in my head. I decided to get a second opinion with an endodontist who told me that the root canal was not done correctly. He had missed a root and should have never performed this procedure as a general dentist. The endodontist had to perform a second root canal on that tooth. I was told that having to have the procedure repeated would weaken the tooth. After receiving a crown on the tooth, I had several years with it, but the pain slowly crept back in. Sure enough, the tooth cracked vertically all the way through. The endodontist told me that having two root canals on that tooth was the main reason why the tooth was so fragile. He told me the tooth cannot be saved. What was supposed to be a routine small filling has turned into the loss of a tooth because of Dr. K's malpractice. I'm writing this review to warn others not to go to Gannett Drive Dental.

Awesome Dental Clinic! I have been seeing Dr. Kivus since I was kid and have been seeing Dr. Fillebrown for the last couple of years. They do an awesome job from my cleanings to other dental work including cavity fillings (which was painless). The hygienists really care about their work. I have had nothing but a good experience at this dentist office. Everyone is friendly and they really care about providing a superior patient experience. Highly recommended!!!

Dr. Fillebrown always does a great job on my teeth. His craftsmanship speaks for itself. He explains each step of what he is doing in a way that is easily understood. The office is very accommodating with appointments and availability. I appreciate the quick and genuine service provided by the team at Gannett Drive Dental. Highly recommend!

For the past ten years, I have gone to see Dr. Kivus for dental services. Recently, I have transitioned to seeing Dr. Fillebrown. Both are overtly competent in their practice, but most important to me, they are always there to listen, provide their expertise, and help me maintain proper dental health. Michelle is an amazing hygienist and the staff at the front desk, led by Kathy, is simply amazing. Everybody I have ever come across in the practice treats me like a member of their family, which makes me comfortable and actually excited for my bi-annual visits. Cleanings are smooth and efficient and whenever I have needed a procedure done (mostly fillings), Dr. Kivus and Fillebrown have performed them flawlessly. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Gannett Drive Dental and I would recommend their services to anybody in Southern Maine who is in need of dental care.

I am very impressed and feel very fortunate to have found this practice. I had a time sensitive dental incident that I needed taken care of quickly. I had called my regular dentist whom said that they couldn't get in to be seen for 2-3 weeks. I called Gannett Drive Dental and they got me in the very next day! From the moment that I first met Dr Gagnon, she has been professional, trusting and caring. Lets just say that she now has a life long patient. I like the practice so much that they now have my husband as a patient as well. We are both very thankful that we found Dr Gagnon and her team.
