My husband is a dental phobic individual. Dr. Fox and Isabelle put him at ease!! I think the only other time that I have seen him so relaxed at the dentist was when he was completely sedated! Thank you to the whole staff for being so very outstanding! 10/10 recommend

I am thrilled to write this review for Dr. Joanna Fox, the outstanding dentist who established Fox Family Dental in South Portland, Maine in 2018. From the moment I stepped into her practice, I knew I had found a gem in the dental world. Dr. Fox is not only highly skilled and knowledgeable in her field, but she also possesses a warm and caring demeanor that instantly puts her patients at ease. Her dedication to providing personalized care is truly exceptional and sets her apart from the rest. I have also been taking my son to see Dr. Fox for his dental needs, and I couldn't be happier with the level of care she provides. From routine check-ups to more complex procedures, Dr. Fox consistently demonstrates her expertise and professionalism. She takes the time to thoroughly explain each step of the process, ensuring that my son feels comfortable and well-informed. What truly stands out about Dr. Fox and her entire staff, is their ability to create a welcoming and friendly environment. I was one of the first 100 patients when Dr. Fox opened. She and her staff have always been incredibly considerate and caring- especially to people like me who, like many, don’t love going to see the dentist. Dr. Fox has seen me come a long way in! Aside from the fantastic staff (especially Valerie, who I can thank for referring me), the environment is beautifully decorated and spotless unlike other practices that I’ve been to. I can’t imagine seeing another dentist and would recommend Fox Family Dental to anyone!

Fox Family is the best dental practice in Portland. The dental hygienist, named Isabelle, was smart, knowledge and caring. She explained everything in detail as she performed the processes; and her concern/care for my well being were paramount in her actions. The dentist displayed the same amount of concern, while the administrative portion of the visit was flawless. Dr Fox has anger issues and is not a competent nor a kind doctor/person. I have been going to Dr Fox since they opened on a regular basis, every 6 months. The staff, especially the hygienist Isabelle who cleans my teeth are great. In fact, Isabelle has been my main dentist there. Out of the 4 years I have been going to Fox Dental I have seen the Dr Fox 3 times. Twice she has been out of the office and the rest of the visits she has not seen me. I had a few teeth they had been "watching". One of the teeth they had been watching cracked and now I am losing that tooth. When I confronted Dr Fox that why did they wait or watch a tooth that was cracked, Dr Fox denied any responsibility. I even went to have a second opinion that agreed more could have done for preventive care. I was never given treatment options for this other than a year ago, Dr Fox recommended a night guard with no mention I might lose a tooth if i didn't watch out. After I called and got a second opinion that agreed with me that Dr Fox was partially responsible and it was not unreasonable to ask her to pay for part of the procedure, Dr Fox did not like that. Narcissists do not like to be wrong so she wrote me an angry email and once again, denied any responsibility. I recognize you cant help some teeth cracking (biting on something hard, an accident) but she knew that this tooth was cracked and they were "watching it" til it broke and now has to be pulled. I do not recommend this dentist. She is unkind and incompetent in my opinion. When confronted she uses intimidation and anger to respond.
