I have worked with Elliff Dental for over a year, including needed crown replacements, regular cleaning and checkups. Their expertise and approach are most welcome, and my Medicare plan is accepted, which is helpful. They review all costs in advance and my mouth feels better thanks to their care.

I’ve been a patient for several years and never had an issue with care. I have insurance and, in the middle of a dental issue, I got a letter, from insurance, that Elliff dropped that insurance. When I got that letter, I called Elliff right away as I wanted to see if I needed to go elsewhere for work that was recommended. During that call I asked specifically if the quoted cost would change. I was told I had nothing to worry about because they dropped one level of my insurance but I had the premiere level, which they kept, and my cost stayed the same given the premiere status. However, while sitting in the chair, 2-3 weeks later, waiting for work to begin, I was told that my cost would be more than double what i was originally told and was confirmed via a phone call. No explanation, just the dr telling me insurance is confusing and he was told nothing would change for patients at the premiere level. I was also told, by office staff, i had to hurry and make a decision so i didn’t put the dr behind schedule. Given that i was in the chair i went ahead with the work and called insurance later. What Elliff failed to communicate, per insurance, was that the premiere level of insurance allows for them to bill much more, which, for me, was more than double. While the office never reached out to me about this change, nor provided me with info when i reached out to them, they were able to call, multiple times, to make sure I paid my bill and asked me to do so before i saw what insurance actually paid. (The check was sent after seeing the insurance payment and immediately cashed.) That’s what they cared about, the payment, not that the office gave misinformation. In fact, I was told by staff that this was happening to many patients with my insurance and that many were leaving the practice. They are certainly able to make a change in insurance but the miscommunication, lack of concern or care about their poor planning and implementation of the new insurance parameters was shameful, deceitful and dishonest. I reached out via letter to invite the doctor to discuss this and have not yet heard from him.

Would give a 0 if possible. Had a bad cavity on my molar back in January. Was told it was close to needing a root canal but they will look it over and let me know when I came back for a follow up a few weeks later. At the follow up a root canal wasn’t even mentioned. They simply filled the tooth with a filling and sent me on my way. (the cavity was so big my new dentist is baffled at why they wouldn’t have put a crown on it) I am now dealing with intense tooth pain and forced to wait a month until I can get into the endodontist.
