Dr. Gerda Gatmaitan Reviews
My husband just recently had to have an implant to replace a tooth Dr. Gerda messed up by doing a sloppy inadequate job.Incidents with Dr. Gerda (2016):She put in a crown for me and there was a sharp edge on it. Upon her finishing the crown, I noticed a sharp edge and brought it to her attention imploring her to take another look at it. She seemed impatient, resented the fact that I wanted her to look at it again, and said, “Well, this is my best work” and that she didn’t see anything wrong with it. As she was saying this, she took her anger out on me and was acting very rough with my mouth by grabbing rocking my head from side to side roughly causing me to wince with pain. She then told me to wait a week or so, and that if I still had problems to later contact her. Since I did not trust her skills in dealing with the problem, I had another doctor take a look at it and he sanded the rough edge down free of chargeDr. Gerda’s assistant performed x-rays of my teeth. I was told I had just one cavity. I was sent home with the dental picture marking the tooth where the cavity supposedly was. When I went in to have the cavity filled, she was now saying I had two cavities that needed filling. I did not appreciate her tacking on or adding expense when a thorough report had already been done showing just one cavity. She filled the cavity. I left the office and halfway home I decided to look into the rear view mirror at my tooth and there was a black edge where the filling had not been done right and was not covering the hole she put in my tooth to fill the cavity. I drove all the way back and demanded that she fix the problem. I waited 5 to 10 minutes and showed her the problem. She filled in the tooth with the proper amount of filling. My husband went in to have a temporary crown put on until his new one came in. Before he could even get out of the door, his temporary crown tipped over and came off. He had to get back into the chair and have her fix it again. When my husband and I confronted Dr. Gerda about her behavior towards me, she was cold, did not apologize for her behavior, showed no remorse and stated that she would never try to hurt me intentionally. She then attempted to make a lot of meaningless small talk with me and tossed a sample mouthwash across the room at me as a parting gift to make up for the poor treatment in the past. This is why we stated to the staff to mark in our charts that we no longer wanted to be treated by Dr. Gerda again.
Sep 08, 2023 · chumley7117Despite it being my first time here, the staff in the office is very hospitable and friendly, Dr Gatmaitan was also extremely personable and kind. I left with a cleaner smile thanks to Abbie! Even though I was long overdue for a routine checkup everything was fairly quick and precise. I’m very pleased with my experience.
