Dr. Edward Perdue Pediatric Dentistry

Unlike other special needs families our experience was wonderful. My daughter is 4 and on the autism spectrum. She does not like having her mouth touched at all. Brushing is a fight everyday, hence the dental problems. My daughters four front teeth were in really bad shape and were starting to break. I had so much guilt over her teeth even though I knew we were both doing our best. At no point did anyone shame me for the condition of her teeth or treat me like I was uneducated. I told one person what a fight it was to brush and floss once a day and did not have to repeat myself. Everyone was very respectful towards us. Dr. Perdue was able to get her into Vanderbilt in a timely manner and rebuild the damaged teeth. I was very thankful that he was willing to do the work to save her teeth instead of just removing them. Her smile is absolutely beautiful. They look like her own teeth, not chicklette teeth. Her recovery was quick and had no complications. Now yes Dr. Perdue is a bit loud and very direct, but I wouldn't say he is aggressive/rude in any way shape or form. That's his personality and that's just fine with my family because he gets the job done well and my daughter was happy with him. I also see others stating that he unnecessarily puts children to sleep at Vanderbilt. I think it was completely justified in our case. I was relieved to know she wouldn't have to be awake during the procedure. I don't feel like he did anything that was unnecessary or unprofessional. He gave me every bit of reassurance that I needed before and after the work was done, and my daughter is excited to go back. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatric dentist. As long as this business is open he's the dentist for us!

We were referred to Dr. Perdue by my daughter’s pediatric dentist. She has an urgent dental issue, but also has an access to care issue because of her low weight. Melody, the office manager, was incredibly kind and helpful and, not only scheduled my daughter’s appointment for the next business day, but scheduled her for surgery the same week. Melody was cheerful, patient, and very accommodating. Dr. Perdue was incredibly professional, was very patient with my wiggly 2-year-old, and answered all of our questions. He was very reassuring and gave us the most hopeful prognosis we’ve received so far. We feel confident that our daughter is in good hands with Dr. Perdue.

We drive three hours from Knoxville to take our kiddos to Dr. Perdue, and it’s well worth it. He’s expedient, knowledgeable, and is an exceptionally skilled dental surgeon. He’s done some extensive work for one of our littles, and he always does an excellent job. We’re so thankful for him!

A great place to go for dental services. Nice staff up front and very helpful. Dr. Perdue is a very nice and polite man. I felt so confident in him with my child and filling her teeth. I was sent here for root canals by her regular dentist ,but he was honest with me as to my child didn’t need them from his perspective. I trusted him and he did a great job.

My daughter was referred to Dr. Perdue from her usual pediatric dentist closer to home due to her anxiety of being at the dentist office. Dr. Perdue's office is about an hour and a half from home, but I tell you I would drive 5 hours to get to his office! He is that amazing!! When I watch my daughters nerves start to subside when he walks in the room it is such a relief! He is so good with his patients and their families! His work is top notch and can not be beat! He is a 10/10 in my book! If you are looking for a new dentist for your kiddos I highly recommend making the drive to Dr. Perdue!

He was great! He worked well with my active child. Created a complete plan. His explanations were clear. He answered all my questions and made sure I agreed with the plan of care and verified what insurance would cover so there will never be any surprises. He also explained how he respects children and does things to their capacity to handle making the experience good for everyone.
