Dentologie - Andersonville

Unfortunately, I cannot give this dental clinic a 4 or 5-star rating after my first visit, and it has nothing to do with the dentists themselves. Here’s my story: my name - Elvira Sharshenalieva, On January 7, I was scheduled for two free consultations for aligners—one at Dentologie and another at a nearby clinic. My plan was to compare prices between the two clinics and determine if I was a suitable candidate for aligners. When I arrived at Dentologie, the experience initially went very well. The assistant and the dentist were incredibly kind and thorough, explaining every detail. They took scans and performed an exam, which felt very professional and reassuring. After the appointment, I approached the reception desk, only to be told I owed $205 for the scans and exam. To say I was shocked would be an understatement. Coming in for a free consultation, I never expected such a charge. I immediately thought I must have missed some fine print, but nowhere on their website did it state anything about additional fees. I had another consultation scheduled at a different clinic just 10 minutes later, so I left Dentologie and headed to the other appointment. The second clinic conducted the same scans and examination without charging me a single cent, as part of the advertised free consultation. After that, I returned to Dentologie to ask why I was being charged $205 for something that was supposed to be free, and why I hadn’t been informed about any additional costs beforehand. The receptionist told me she would check with the dentist. I waited for another 20 minutes before someone finally informed me that all the services I received were indeed part of the free consultation and that I didn’t have to pay anything after all. They showed me their proposed aligner treatment plan, and I asked, “So it was a mistake when you tried to charge me?” The receptionist simply said, “Yes.” No apology was offered. While the actual dental staff were excellent, this experience left a bad impression. Lack of clear communication about fees and an error like this, followed by no apology, is unacceptable in a professional setting.

I went in today for a new patient consultation and cleaning. The staff was friendly and welcoming from start to finish and my evaluation was comprehensive and thorough. Additional treatment was required, which was clearly explained, and estimated insurance co-pay was provided. I was easily able to make my follow up appointment at a time that suited my schedule. Overall a great experience.

Had such an absolutely lovely experience here after going to the same dentist for 15 years. They were kind, gentle, patient, attentive, and the office is soothing and calm - not at all the institutional and scary dental practice I'm used to. So glad that they're in our neighborhood and walkable!

Dr. McKenna and Alex were incredibly informative and answered all of my questions thoroughly. I had been experiencing occasional sensitivity, and Dr. McKenna was able to accurately identify the cause. They were gentle and attentive throughout the entire visit. They truly care and addressed me like a person, not a number. Hands down, this was the best routine dental check-up I have ever had. I visit the dentist every six months, and this experience truly stood out.

Friendly and inviting the staff. I get very anxious about the dentist and the staff were super informative and relaxed, making me more comfortable. Office space was super clean and did not feel like a dentist office.
