Customer Reviews
I just recently started going to the Schaumburg office since my original location, Vernon Hills, went through a lot of changes. I’ve known Lyn at the front desk since I started going there a few years ago. She always provides great customer service and went above and beyond to make sure the transition from switching offices was smooth and convenient for me. I went to the Schaumburg location for the first time earlier this month. The staff was really friendly and professional. I’m so happy I still get to see Lyn. I highly recommend this office for any dental services.
This office is just wonderful. The staff is so friendly and professional. I always feel welcome. My braces and teeth are coming along nicely. I’m very pleased
I went in for a routine cleaning. The staff was friendly and helpful when letting me know what documents were needed. The dental team was great - they gave me some guidance on my wisdom teeth, old fillings, and old bonding. They provided quotes and referrals where needed.
I’ve needed pretty extensive dental work over the last few years and Dr. Valis and Rima are the sole reason I’ve been able to keep my smile! The dental assistants and front desk employees are always so great too. I’d highly recommend this office!
⭐ Absolutely Horrible Experience with Dr. Vasilios Valis at Dental Works, Schaumburg I chose Dental Works on American Lane, Schaumburg, because of their high Google reviews, but my experience with Dr. Vasilios Valis was a nightmare. If I could give negative stars, I would. First, Dr. Valis had my X-rays and knew we needed to do 5 fillings (4 upper teeth, and 1 wisdom tooth on the opposite side). The first appointment lasted 1.5 hours, during which he showed little patience despite me telling him I'm a very sensitive person. I've seen other dentists before, and this felt off from the start. The first major red flag: On the same day after I got home, one of the teeth he worked on cracked. Not the filling, but my actual tooth. The next day, another tooth he worked on cracked too! After consulting with a relative who's a dentist, I confirmed these were parts of my teeth that broke off, not the fillings. I immediately called to schedule a follow-up, but they couldn’t see me right away. Meanwhile, all the teeth he worked on, which had never been sensitive before, became incredibly sensitive after his treatment. So now, I’m left with 2 cracked teeth and sensitivity across all the others. By the time my second appointment came, I was already stressed. This appointment was meant to fix the two cracked teeth and finish the wisdom tooth. It took a nightmarish 3.5 hours, during which I broke down in tears. Dr. Valis kept struggling with the wisdom tooth filling, having to redo it several times. When he finally showed me the result (for the first time), I couldn’t believe my eyes — he only filled one side of the wisdom tooth! When I questioned him, he casually stated it was too difficult to reach the other side. And mind you, each filling cost me around $500. Not once did he explain this beforehand or give me the option to choose a different course of action. Instead, he kept pushing the narrative that the broken tooth pieces were part of the fillings, when they clearly were not. He even criticized my teeth, claiming my coffee and tea intake had made them look bad — this was simply untrue. My teeth are in great condition, and I've never had issues with them before. To make matters worse, he didn’t administer enough anesthesia initially, and then added more after I complained. At the end, he joked about me blinking to check if he had hurt my facial nerve, which was a terrifying comment considering the circumstances. Lastly, after all the trauma, I was left with sensitive teeth and was scheduled for a follow-up appointment with a specialist, which I later found out had never actually been booked. Bottom line: If you value your time, money, and mental well-being, avoid Dr. Vasilios Valis at all costs. The good reviews are misleading, and my experience has been the worst dental treatment I've ever had. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
