Dr. B is my son dental pediatrics he is a great doctor i’ve been coming here since my son was seven years old. He is 10 No complaints. If I can give him more than five stars I would. On the other hand, all the staff here are great, except for the women Dentist I do not like the way she works.

I went to this dentist last year because I needed oral surgery. I had an abscess and was in a lot of pain while the dental surgery was covered by my insurance they told me once I was in the chair that I needed to have a plug put in to stop the bleeding and for infection and that would be thousands of dollars and I could take out a credit card . I don’t have the cash on me to pay. They ran. My credit told me that I was approved for the card. But this all felt very predatory. And I ended up leaving an immense pain. Thankfully, I was able to find a dentist in Middletown. Also covered by my insurance they took my tooth out. No pain no plug no credit card. While the office is clean, the staff was friendly. I did feel like this is a predatory environment. And based on that experience would not recommend. I was in the worst pain of my life. I have not slept in days because the pressure in my head from the toothache I’ve gotten so bad I would have given them the thousands of dollars but for a moment of clarity because my insurance cover the tooth removal, this was extra. And the nurse told me that this was not going to be done without me getting the plug, that they don’t do surgery without the plug. In Middletown they gave me gause for the minimal bleeding I experienced.

If I can give zero stars, I would. First, I show up for a 11:00am appointment at 10:30am only to wait to be seen at 1:30pm. So I go for a tooth extraction after it was revealed that I have a cracked tooth. This place literally tried to rob me of over $1200 by telling me I had to pay this because even though the insurance covers it, the authorization takes up two weeks for them to even approve the procedure. Then they try to sell me on that I can claim it to get reimbursed. Do not give this place any business. They give the runaround only to take money. I called my insurance company directly and they told me that what they were doing was inappropriate, wrong, unethical, and immoral. For what I need done, I shouldn’t even have to go through this or pay anything if I have the proper insurance. Steer clear of this place.

I was scheduled for 1:00 for a consult and X-ray for a root canal. The office is nice and clean, the clerks at the desk very pleasant and compliant. The endodontist was amazing, very easy to speak to, he makes you feel comfortable. The dental assistants, service with a smile, so why my 3 star rating? I was not seen by the doctor until 2:55, which is unacceptable, I asked to speak with the manager Josie at 2:45 she never came in to see what was my issue, so after seeing the doctor , I waited another 15 minutes to speak to Josie who was inside her office aware that I was waiting, when I spoke to her no apology was offered instead she said when I go to appointments and have to wait 2-3 hours, I understand. That was not the right answer for a manager, she said she never got a chance to come apologize because she was busy and still no apology was given UNACCEPTABLE. Just because we are on Gunhill Road does not mean we should be treated any different then if we were on 5th avenue

I had an appointment on Saturday, September 14, 2024. I was traumatized at this East Bronx office on E. Gunhill Rd.! My appointment was for 10am and I didn't get out of there until 6pm. They had me waiting all day, in excruciating pain. I'm a 56 year old Black woman, and the front office & clinical staff are all Hispanic. Most of the patients, as well. The area is. Not that that is, or should be an issue but I felt discriminated against. I asked repeatedly throughout the day what was taking so long. And I was met with rudeness and mockery. The clinical staff, including the dentist, was no better. The tech, Charlie met with me after me waiting in the waiting room for 6 hours. To then try and extort me into getting an unnecessary bone graft. He told me, "Your infected tooth is in your sinuses and if the Dr removes it, it'll leave a hole. He doesn't want to do it without you getting a bone graft. But your insurance won't cover that so it'll be $1200." I informed him that I didn't have $1200, nor could I afford that. But told him it was dangerous for me to walk around with this infected tooth( I had 2 infected molars, top & bottom right side). As I was on dialysis. He seem annoyed but said he'd see what he could do & left. I was shaking from being in pain for so long. The dentist finally came to give me novacaine. That, was painful. I started tearing up, and he sarcastically said," Just stop, I give these shots to people every day". No empathy, no bedside manor. Nothing. He abruptly leaves with the assistant. By this point, I just start crying, shaking because my body had been in such a tremendous amount of pain for so long! I felt disrespected, mocked, shamed, angry, frustrated and disgusted at the treatment I'd been receiving since I stepped through the doors. The actual procedure was excruciating. As a half hour had went by since the novacaine shot. They finally came in at about 5:20-5:30pm, to do the actual extractions. I told him I could still feel my teeth. He gave me another shot, top & bottom, then immediately started to extract. I felt EVERYTHING!!!!!! I was gripping onto the chair, screaming. I had one nurse on my left, suctioning, another holding my head down. He then scraped my gum. As I was told he was getting out the rest of the infection. I felt that excruciating pain, as well. Then, the process was repeated for my bottom tooth. I felt like I was being tortured!!!! He then sutured my gums, and left. I was then led to take an xray and left. When I say I felt traumatized...I've never had an experience like that, in my life. It was my first time there. I got into my car, at 6pm. It was parked across the street in front of the deli/ bodega. I just broke down. I don't cry easily. I've given birth to 4 children, naturally. But this...Was pure torture. Emotionally, and physically. Plus, the attempted extortion. DO NOT, and I repeat, DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! These people are horrible!
