So grateful for Dr. Mattschei and his team!! I was in desperate need of a dentist who could remove and replace two cracked crowns, without the torture of at least two or three appointments first. I knew I needed, and wanted, a cleaning, a consultation and X-rays, all hopefully in one appointment, and as soon as possible. The receptionist couldn’t have been nicer. Much to my surprise, she scheduled me in for the following day! My schedule doesn’t always allow for me to make appointments far in advance, needless to say, I was super excited. When I arrived, the staff was very friendly, I got my X-rays, met the Dr., had a consultation, and had my teeth cleaned by a dental hygienist. The staff did speak Spanish to each other, and little did they know that I did too and not one of them said anything negative or inappropriate about me or any other client the entire time I was there, and I was there until way after closing. That was a test that they all passed with flying colors! I told Dr. Mattschei how desperately I needed to have the crowns replaced as soon as possible, and how I’d love to have my teeth whitened in the future. Much to my surprise, the Dr told me that he would be able to do all of that, while I was there, as long as I could be patient! I was shocked and even a little bit skeptical that he could accomplish those time consuming tasks before they close at 5pm. What I didn’t know was that Dr Mattschei was willing to stay late to accommodate me, as long as it took to complete the job. NO ONE does that anymore! I was so grateful for him and the staff for staying more that two hours past closing for me! They didn’t even make me feel rushed. They were so efficient, had state of the art equipment, and also kind! That is a rarity these days. I left there so excited, with my temporary crowns and whitened teeth! I’ll go back in two weeks for the permanent ones. Dr Mattschei did a great job laser whitening my teeth, removing two old crowns, and was meticulous at preparing my teeth for new crowns. I left there so very happy and surprised at how many services they were able to perform in ONE DAY!! THANK YOU DR MATTSCHEI and STAFF!! What a blessing you all are! Clearly, I highly recommend them and look forward to going back for my permanent crowns in two weeks!
Crown in an hour turned into 4 hours in the chair. They actually started cleaning my teeth even though I told her I had a cleaning two weeks ago from my regular dentist and proceeded to charge me $200 for a cleaning I neither wanted or needed and didn’t even tell me I would be charged for this service that I just paid my dentist for two weeks ago. This place is a scam. It was supposed to be $1200… they upsold me on a laser crown and charged me to clean my teeth that didn’t need cleaning. Stay away!
Showed up to my appointment fifteen minutes early, ended up waiting an hour and a half after my appointment time. After my name was called, I continued to wait for about fifteen minutes. Two hours in, I still did not receive my basic cleaning. We waited until the owner came back from his lunch break. I decided to leave after more than two hours of waiting, and still had not received the cleaning. I Was ignored in the waiting room by every employee the whole one hour and a half. Not one word to let me know they were sorry for the wait, or to let me know I’d be taken back soon. Every employee spoke Spanish the whole time to one another, so I had no idea what was happening. Just had to wait until I heard my name. After more than two hours, I had no cleaning done and no full examination. They ended up overcharging me $30 more than what it says on their website(Wish I’d seen that beforehand.) Dr. Steele was kind and informative, the young woman who helped me with the X-ray was kind as well. Other than them, everyone was very dismissive and unwelcoming.
DO NOT I repeat DO NOT go to this dentist. Let’s start from walking in the door. The plethora of front desk workers would lead you to believe you will get amazing quick service. It’s a mirage. The ladies are rude, have zero knowledge of what they are doing and taught to be more of a used car salesmen. They speak Spanish the entire time and the things I heard while there was mind blowing. I was asked when I arrived if I spoke Spanish and I said no. (I do speak Spanish but I’ve learned if you want to know what’s really going on, say you don’t.) These ladies made fun of every patient that came in, including me. I am not one for confrontation so I just bit my lip and listened. While waiting, to be seen I was able to hear everything going on with patients in the back. There is absolutely no privacy. I guess HIPAA isn’t a concern to that office. They don’t close doors or create any kind of barrier between patients being seen and the waiting room. On top of that, when you walk in the door, there is an X-ray machine and computer to view X-rays right there for anyone outside the window and anyone in the sitting area to see. Beside the computer/x-ray machine at the front door is a drinking fountain that is leaking all over the floor. Huge safety hazard. Once you are seated and waiting for the dentist, you will wait until he is done walking around the office laughing at things on his phone. When he comes in he immediately speaks down to you like you are a worthless person. He cusses more than a sailor directly at you. He doesn’t explain anything and belittles you for having whatever your issue is. He then precedes to tell you that either you pay this exuberant amount of money to have him fix this problem or the problem you are having is going to turn fatal. He says that most dental offices don’t even know how to treat your problem so either get it done right or go somewhere else and get it done wrong. I even listened to him berate a man because he was from Canada and he mentioned healthcare was free there. He told the man then go back to Canada and get it fixed. After being seen by him he walks out of where I was sitting and tells his desk people that I most definitely can’t afford his services and to give me a plan of action printout and get me out of his office. I was never given any options on ways to afford the treatment I needed when I know there were options based on the literature I’d seen. I am also reporting this dentist to the Office for Civil Rights and AHCA's HIPAA Compliance Office as well as the Florida Dental Association/Florida Board of Dentistry. I plead with anyone who sees this review to heed my warning. In this day and age, social media/reviews are the most powerful tool we have to get the word out and get awful businesses shut down. The facility is unprofessional, unsanitary and truly doesn’t care about anyone. It only cares about the money it generates by the end of the day.
My crown fell off and it was right in the front. I googled dentist and name Dental Crown came up. They took me the same day. I have problem with crown 4 times it fell our. The doctor Marschei took care of me. He explained why it’s happening and why He also explained all my options so as not to happen again. He cemented the one I had and now I have to decide which option I want. Beautiful experience with no pressure to decide. I recommend them highly
