Customer Reviews
The staff are so friendly, accommodating, and empathetic. I really appreciate their sense of humor as well. They are so knowledgeable and they explain the process thoroughly, it helps a lot. The service is pretty fast but what makes it better, is that they take their time and I feel like they’re not taking shortcuts. I will be coming back because of their excellent service. I would recommend them to anyone of my family members or friends. Dr. Ali is amazing!
First and last visit for a free ortho consultation. Quick and efficient reception with reasonable waiting time. Dr. Ryan is great and patient to answer all my questions. However the financial coordinator calculated the price wrong (after I confirmed with my insurance) and seems not want to even explain the quote to me. Don't feel I want to get my braces with such an office.
Absolutely terrible. Waited for an hour just to see the dentist, just be told that she was re-diagnosing me and refusing to do the procedure that the appointment was made for because she didn’t agree with the original dentist, which would be extremely more expensive and not covered my insurance…waste of time. The front desk staff isn’t any better. Asked them to reschedule me on a Thursday and they scheduled me for Tuesday. Also when I got a cleaning the dental assistant kept dropping the tools onto the floor and I suspect she didn’t clean them before sticking them back into my mouth. Go to a different location. Highland park absolute is trash.
Reeks of dishonesty regarding insurance and upselling, particularly with the female office manager(?). I came in for a filling replacement (fell out) and the male dentist said I should get a resin filling to replace my existing resin. The office lady comes in and says it's not covered by my insurance, unless I have a cavity. I ask her 3 times, suggesting that shouldn't be the case but she won't budge. She also suggests that I get a porcelin instead, rather than resin, but it would be more expensive. While I'm waiting, I call my insurance, and ask them if they would cover the lost filling, even if it wasn't a cavity. Sure enough, they say they definitely will cover it, and they confirm this twice. The male dentist then comes back and tells me that we can still do the resin filling, and not to worry about the porcelain. I then explain my confusion about the insurance, and he says they won't do it unless I do a full exam and submit that for authorization to the insurance company, because they don't believe the insurance company will cover it. I do the exam and call back a week later and of course, my insurance approves the authorization and will cover the filling. Don't trust what they say if they give you a hard time about insurance. Better yet, don't come here at all if you don't have to.
Some shady business happening here…. here’s my experience from yesterday. The good, my regular check up was fine. The xray tech, hygienist and doctor was sufficient and friendly. They informed me of a new system they have and I had to digitally sign consent forms etc. very professional. The bad, 1. I checked in and I was told to pay a $12 copay. I was surprised bc I haven’t had to in the past. The receptionist said it was for code D9430. I was confused why they were doing this. She said “they apply this to everyone”. The last 4 visits never had this code. My insurance has no copay for a regular check up (cleaning, xray, etc). They said they would call my insurance to see why I’m being charged this. I called back the next day, and they said my insurance company (delta) is requiring it. I called delta dental insurance and they said that this dentist shouldn’t be charging me D9430. It’s incorrect and not appropriate. Now I will have to make time to dispute this. 2. My appointment was for 9am. When it came time for my cleaning, my dentist said I don’t arrive til 10am, “why are you hear so early?” This was so confusing. I was wondering why I was waiting so long. TLDR—- the work they do is sufficient but the billing is suspicious. I would not recommend them bc you’re gonna get billed some weird stuff. I know $12 copay isn’t much but it’s the principle. A lot of these small clinics are often upselling you and billing crazy stuff to the insurance to make $$$$$.
Please avoid Dr. Anifa Karelian at this location at all cost, extremely unprofessional and rude. I won’t go into detail here out of respect but something really has to be done about Dr Krekian. I’m switching Dentist currently to avoid ever experiencing her again . Any one who works at this location will know exactly what I’m talking about when they read this review. Please fix this problem immediately for the sake of your patients. Thank you.
Watch what they come out with about taking out a loan and the amount. They told me to take out a loan for $5000, and the real charge was $ 341, so that is a major difference, and they will pressure you to do so.dont complain to Corp. They will call the office and tell them you complained and will call you and ask if you di d. Corp dont care and look up their name . It's been changed from another company that had bad practices, so same company has a different name.they billed me even though my insurance covered the bill . Not once but two times. Be aware
