Appointments either start late (even if I schedule an 8:00 a.m. appointment!) or my appointment takes an hour or more longer than told. They don't seem to care if you are running late to pick up a parent, child, or to get to work because they are running behind. There's usually no communication before you arrive that they are running behind. Be aware...if you leave voicemail messages, somehow they never seem to get them. No one returns your call. Once you're in the chair having work done and the dentist is going to take longer (going back and forth between two patients), you're stuck there. The front desk receptionist discusses your personal information in the lobby, even when you request privacy. If someone there seemed like they genuinely cared about doing better with customer service (being welcoming, kind, and professional), maybe I'd consider going back. It's been over a year. I'm done. I can see why these ratings are so low on so many websites. Some comments say their terrible experiences started with the new staff in recent years. I'm a newer patient so I'm not sure if it was better. I know I won't recommend them to anyone. Who is the owner? I'd like to discuss how management and staff operate there.

My dentist I can't for the life of me remember his name but he was a young gentleman and he was the absolute SWEETEST man I've ever had as a Healthcare provider! He comforted me and made me feel at ease because I'm so self conscious about my bad teeth I was so embarrassed but he did NOT make me feel bad or judged he touched my shoulder and said "we are going to make it better don't worry ".! K wanted to cry in the dental chair lol.. But no, it was an amazing experience even though it's been far too long since I took care of my oral health.. Been too embarrassed to go but now I'm looking forward to smiling again and eating normal again! Thanks doc and thanks girls up at reception too! Everyone is amazing here at Oakland Family dentistry! This is a special dental practice full of extremely kind, compassionate, respectful, competent professionals. Dr. Murad, Olivia, Shreya, Georgette and Megan make up a fantastic team! I feel so fortunate to be a patient here, feeling better when I leave than when I arrive. That is a gift. Thank you all, and wishing you all ALL GOOD THINGS!

They’ve canceled my appointment at least 6 out of 10 times already. One time I arrive on time and sit in the lobby waiting for 90 minutes and they still cancelled me while I was waiting to be seen. They said there was an emergency that came up and the hygienist had to leave and I needed to reschedule. Another time me and the family member had both back to back. We both showed up on time, but they could only see one of us because the hygienist had to leave early.. Another time they canceled me after I showed up on time, stating that I didn’t confirm the day prior so they canceled me after I’ve been on schedule for months. Today I had to come in early because the doctor wanted to reschedule me because she had an emergency and had to leave early. They canceled my fiancé for the fifth time yesterday. It just never stops. We only go here for convenience because it’s around the corner from where we live! The Southfield location is even worse.
