This is the second part of my review because I had reached a character limit: There’s a lot more but I should just get to the point: My second to last appointment I was told I was only getting my top braces off, to finish the rest of the treatment in a retainer while Dr. worked on my bottom teeth. When I showed up to my last appointment, I was very excited to get them off. A new dental assistant in training ? was the one to take my braces off. She started going for my bottom braces and I said, “Wait, he said last time that I was only getting my top off”. So she went to ask Dr Berrios for clarification and he said no take them all off. So I didn’t think anything of it, he knows best right? Wrong. This has happened many times where Dr. says something and then by next appointment he forgets what he even planned to do. Anyways, I get my braces off and they hand me my top teeth retainer (at my previous appointment they had taken the imprints of just the top teeth because remember doctor said ONLY top). They say I have to come back at 5 pm for the bottom retainer. Remember: I live over an hour away and work about 45 minutes away. I was so pissed because I drove an hour to work, left work early (I get paid hourly so I lose money everytime I see Dr. Berrios), drive 45 minutes to my appointment, and they want me to stick around until 5 pm (it was 12 pm at the time) to pick up my retainer?? So they really expected me to either wait around for hours waiting for them to make my retainer OR they expected me to drive 45 minutes back to work and then drive another 45 minutes back to the ortho office just to make another drive back home that would’ve taken me close to 2 hours??? What kind of options are those?? I said why can’t we just do this right now? The dental assistant literally said “Well.. it’s lunch time and Dr doesn’t want to do it right now.” ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What kind of Dr does that? “It’s lunch time so just come back later.” Excuse me ?? some of us have work and commutes that are very inconvenient. This all would have been avoided if Dr had remembered what he had planned to do. I was never supposed to get my bottom braces off yet, so that was their mistake and now I was the one to pay for it. Again, there was so much more but this last appointment was my last straw. My teeth aren’t even fully straight but I don’t care. I am SO HAPPY to cut ties with this office and never see them again. Lastly, my retainer is SO poorly made, the wires are loose and have cut my cheeks so deeply that it got infected and felt like I had a sore throat because it hurt to swallow from how deep my cheek cuts were. Before you come here, think about what kind of investment you are going to make. It’s a shame because Dr. Berrios is a very nice character but the way he runs his office is TERRIBLE.

Im going to post 2 reviews because Ive exceeded the limit: I want to start by saying that Dr. Berrios has always remained very professional and actively takes the time to engage in conversations with each of his patients. He keeps a good front with his patients but makes his assistants be the bearers of bad news. I’ve had my braces on for 5 years… Over these years I’ve had to deal with terrible customer relations but couldn’t do anything about it because I needed to finish my treatment. My problems with them started before the braces. I was going away to college and got Invisalign first. Invisalign did not work for me because I was living out of the state and could only retrieve my trays when I would visit home. I know many people with invisalign and their ortho would give them 6 months of trays at once but Dr. Berrios did not allow me to take mine. So he made Invisalign worthless to me after we paid so much money for it. Once I was back from college I got braces to finish out the treatment. Scheduling with this office is TERRIBLE! First of all, their phone lines rarely work so it’s very hard to get in touch with them. They’re basically only open during weekday hours which is very hard for someone like me who has to take time off work just to get work done. I live over an hour away and they never worked with me to make it easier for me to receive my treatment. They once turned away my brother after he was NINE minutes late.. He’s a kid and took a bus from across town just to get to his appointment. These dental assistants prioritize lunch time and leaving the office over the integrity of their work. (Over the years I’ve met good dental assistants but most of them there are very rude and do not put the patients first)

My brother and I went to Dr. Berrios because other dentist wanted to extract our teethes; we didn't want that. He did amazing job fixing my teeth without any extractions. My brother and I got our braces off today and got our retainers which is a new step. Overall, Dr. Berrios did fantastic job and knows what he is doing and has a good method of understanding everyone's different teeth. I also thank the staff who are great people that help out and willing to work with you. Thank You!

Finding a really good specialist is a rather difficult task, because many doctors focus on their specific area of work without considering the larger picture. I visited Dr. Berrios through a recommendation and was impressed by doctor’s professionalism! The doctor allowed me to look at my health issue from a completely different point of view. I highly recommend Dr. Berrios. He is truly a professional in his field. As it turned out, I have problems with my teeth due to breathing problems during sleep (so, I have to deal with my nose first, not my teeth). Honestly, quite shocking to find out about that only after all the long Invisalign process that I had in the past with another clinic! If you need an alternative, credible opinion-contact Dr. Berrios!

Wow. This man is a treasure! He is compassionate and caring and really listens. I am in my 40s and went to him for a third opinion after my original orthodontist wanted me to spend an arm and a leg for a minor re-adjustment that wasn't going to address the real issue. Dr Berrios tuned in and explained that I could re-straighten my front teeth (again) but my root issue is an airway and restricted breathing problem related to narrow palate. I'm now seeing another specialist he recommended and we are staying in touch about my progress. While a specific orthodontic treatment is something I'm strongly leaning toward, there has been zero pressure to sign up for treatment from Dr Berrios and his team. In fact, he encouraged me to rule out any non-orthodontic cause with an ENT first. I feel like I can trust this person, and I love that he is into Holistic care! Thank you.
