Best experience ever . As soon as I arrived to my appointment I was seen right away. Dentist was polite and kind. I loved that he did not try recommended unnecessary procedures to me. Also, the hygienist cleaned my teeth very well.

I showed up for my appointment in April 22 and was barely greeted by the two chatty women at the front. One eventually gave me a clipboard with forms to fill out then I sat and waited a good half hour before being called for X-rays. After the X-rays the dentist Dr. Hosseini came through into the X-ray room to tell me I had one tooth that needed a root canal asap another tooth that was rotted and needed to come out and a possible cavity. He never looked inside my mouth or directly in my face. He then told me to get the root canal and extraction done first and then he will clean my teeth bc it would be a waste of time to clean them now. He the dismissed me to the front with a paper showing a couple of endodontists where I could get the root canal done and sent a prescription for antibiotics and an oral rinse to my pharmacy. I left the office without him or the front door staff saying anything such as have a nice day. I have since found a Dental College with clean, state of the art rooms and every student professor and dentist, tech and receptionist has been 100% customer service approved by me. They of course wanted to see any previous X-rays and I did contact Cohen Dental to try and obtain those X-rays but no response yet. I now know for a fact that those X-rays are only approved by my insurance every three years and any others I will more than likely pay out of pocket for. I believe Cohen dental owed me at least a cleaning and exam before showing me out the door once they submitted a request for guaranteed payment for taking those X-rays. Despite hearing a personal acquaintance’s experience before going there to Gentle Dental, I tried to be open minded and fair. First impressions count and I would never recommend this Medicaid scamming dental office to anyone. Have a good day!

This is my new dentist office! The dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth was absolutely sublime, she was gentle, caring, and super professional. She took her time with my cleaning and when I returned home I just couldn’t stop smiling. Please keep in mind I did not have pain in my mouth or cavities; I mention this because this can make a world of a difference when getting a cleaning. The Doctor on site is caring and knowledgeable as well, he’s also a people person. I sincerely trust this office with my teeth. The office is small yes, but it’s clean and ran professionally. I will continue to be a client of theirs.

10/6/24 EDIT: I have since been going to Tend (many locations in Manhattan and super easy to book an appointment) Not only are they professional but also very through. I got a comprehensive exam where they found tartar buildup as well as some tiny gaps in my cavities. The service is super relaxing with a tv and headphones provided through out. They take most insurance and are very transparent with any out of pocket costs. Manhattan is a trip away from Co-op but i would highly recommend Tend Dental. INITIAL REVIEW I have been coming here for at-least 3 years and this visit will be the last time. Dr. Kevan was always pleasant till today and he is the main reason why I won’t be returning. I had an appointment for 4/10 and did not know it was cancelled till I called earlier to update my insurance (I got a new one and couldn’t find the ID number so I wanted to double check that it would be fine). That’s when they informed me that the Dr wasn’t around and that they called to let me know it was canceled. Mind you i saw no missed call, voicemail or text. I didn’t make it a big deal and just accepted another appointment for 4/27. On 4/27 i get a call 8 mins before my appointment asking if I am coming in. Even though I responded to their text confirming days before. Then the receptionist asked if i would be on time cause he has another patient. I said yes, i live next door so i am just waiting for my appointment time to show up. I then asked to clarify if i would have to wait if i came on time because i have waited an hour in the past. (I was not thrilled about waiting but i understand these things happen.) She said no ill be fine. Then minutes later she called again trying to cancel my appointment because i had a cleaning less than 6 months ago and my insurance won’t pay. Evidently they don’t seem to take notes or pay attention because I did say that I had a new insurance and i am allowed 4 cleanings per year. She responded “well i will have to call and verify”. I said okay. She called again asking for my insurance ID number cause she can’t search my name. At this point i am annoyed because why are you doing all this minutes to my appointment. Imagine if i did not live next door, would she expect me to turn around and go home after being cancelled on 2 weeks ago (without notification?) I am not stupid, i know what insurance i have and ultimately if there is a billing discrepancy, I would have to pay for it so what is the problem? So i told her I am coming to my appointment and she can collect whatever information she needs from me. I show up and get called in for X-rays and the Dr greets me and asks how i am doing. I respond that i am not happy and explained the aforementioned. He did not acknowledge or apologize for the prior cancellation or my frustrations, but instead tried to talk over me in a combative tone repeatedly telling me “its company policy”. Well your company policy makes no sense. If you want to collect insurance information you ask hours or days before not minutes before. If people show up 1-2 hours late to their appointments that is not my problem. Its the same way i don’t call the office to ask if he is on time because i have had to wait in the past. I have had at-least 5 appointments and was never late. The Dr. then had someone else Martha? Do my cleaning. She did a great job btw. After my cleaning, he then barely enters the room and said see you in 6 months. No actually i will not be back. So no thanks. The receptionist annoyed me but the Dr. handled the situation very poorly and that is the main reason I am writing this review. As someone who has worked in customer facing jobs, its hard to maintain composure when the client is angry. So i don’t put too much blame on the receptionist. But for the “manager” in this situation to not de-escalate the situation is very very disappointing. P.S. This is long and probably full of grammatical errors because I am still riled up from this situation.

I was greeted by the receptionist with a welcome and how can I help you. I informed her I was here for a first time visit. She had me sign in and ask for my information and handed me the paperwork that needed to be done. The office is clean and the dental technician are very nice. The dentist is friendly and welcoming. He examined my teeth and told me his findings and what needed to be done. I had a very pleasant experience.
